...I can beat him in a 10K foot-race! But could he run a fair one?

Makes sense. No re-election campaign to worry about.

I know he is the undisputed king of the mudslingers, and a highly effective campaign manager, but does he have any talent when it comes to governing, or is he just another yes man. I would hope a president's cabinet would contain a wide range of views and ideas, but has that ever been the case?

Any bets on how long before the VP says his ticker is giving him problems and Rove is bumped to that spot in preperation for the 2008 election? The madness continues!

Rove is bumped to that spot in preperation for the 2008 election Awesome. We could recruit crowds of little Catholic girls to attend his rallies.

The smartest political operator the country had in long time. The guy is simply brilliant. Getting a semi-literate, limited mental capacity, certifiable fraud from Texas elected and elected twice is a hugely impressive accomplishement. Democrats have a lot to learn here. Verbosity is nice but it doesn't get you anywhere, they need to find a shrewd, quiet operator of their own. Getting more aggressive representation in Congress/Senate would be nice too, too much dead wood there. --- PS. Carl, personal appeal here, you may think now that there is nothing you could do to top it. This is not true Carl, you are capable of much, much greater things. Do not disappoint us. Go read the history of Roman Empire and particularly that of Gaius (AD 37-41). The guy was so good he managed to get his horse elected. Surely you can top that Carl. For starters, how about getting us a real chimp elected next time?

"The guy is simply brilliant. Getting a semi-literate, limited mental capacity, certifiable fraud from Texas elected and elected twice is a hugely impressive accomplishement." Not elected YET. Getting fake elections certified is not really the same thing. Without Diebold, there would be no GWB, no KR. They would be sleeping it off next to their golf bags. Only by stealing tens of millions of votes, and, when that fails, twisting their SCOTUS insiders' arms, do they 'succeed.' Shi*t succeeds in getting on your shoes, but that hardly makes it smart.

Re-reading nameless pov as sarcastic and ironic and apologizing for Democratic Kerrylike "verbosity." Stylistically disparate, we're all basically making the same argument vs. Bush's further empowerment of Karl Rove. (TL is bound to add some ". . . ." to my last post. In my frustrations, I get carried away.)

Opposite pov from the pov of nameless was posted on democracynow.org; this viewpoint is similar to the pov of Paul in LA:
Karl Rove Promoted To Coordinate Domestic & Foreign Policy . . . . President Bush's senior adviser and top political strategist Karl Rove will be given more power within the administration. On Tuesday Rove was named deputy White House chief of staff. He will be in charge of coordinating policy between the White House Domestic Policy Council, National Economic Council, National Security Council and Homeland Security Council. For the first time Rove will have a formal role in shaping the country's foreign policy. Outgoing Democratic National Committee Chairman Terence McAuliffe said "Bush knows that Rove is neither an economic nor a national security expert; he's simply an ideological strategist who has a history of bending the truth and using dirty tricks to get his way."
