Bernie Ebbers Testifies in World Com Trial

Former World Com chief Bernie Ebbers took the witness stand today in his fraud trial. He said he didn't know about the fraud and would have put an end to it if he had known.

Either Ebbers or Scott Sullivan is a liar. Sullivan got a sweet deal for testifying against Ebbers. No other witness confirms Sullivan's account. But Ebbers is testifying for his life.

Who will the jury believe? Let's see how Mr. Ebbers holds up on cross-examination tomorrow.

Update: The prosecution began cross-examining Ebbers this afternoon.

Bush Knew him well, maybe we can get bush on mass fraud, after all Ebbers had and still has some deals going on with the bush business boys. and yes justice is the deal and some times a real sweet deal. Love to see him in prison along with Sullivan and the Bush boys, in cell 666, with gang members to showing the boys how to do it,the right way! maybe we can get saddam in the same cell with bin laden, think of that as a business deal.

Maybe Ebbers can get a note to Ken Lay, who can use his obvious influence on his friend Bush so both of these criminals can SKATE. A $10,000 note should get the ball rolling. Just endorse it to: Dick Cheney, asbestos litigation fund.

Ebbers is lying. This folksy-charmy side of him is a front for the business side, which was ruthless, take-no-prisoners, and urgently so. Why federal prosecutors haven't called Diana Day Cartee (fmr Pres of Customer Service), Ron Beaumont (fmr COO), Cindy Andreotti (fmr Pres of Global Business), Omar Leeman (fmr Pres of Wholesale) or any of the other people who had intimate knowledge of the inner workings is beyond me. While many of these decisions were kept close to the vest, this wasn't an operation run by two people.
