John Conyers vs. Byron York

The gloves are off. Over at the Huffington Post Blog, Rep. John Conyers lambasts journalist Bryon York for his column last week referring to Conyers and Rep. Louise Slaughter as "Crazy Aunt Louise and Uncle John ".

Rep. Conyers post is clever. He uses links (although a few don't work quite right.) But most of all, the post shows that Rep. Conyers (or at least someone on his staff) is on top of what's happening in the blogosphere, from Jeff Gannon to the Downing Street Memo.

I guess pointing out the fact that the Democratic leadership didn't see anything worth following up last fall is too painful for TL - it might lead to uncomfortable thoughts about the nature of reality. Far easier to just delete my comments...

Did you read the Gannon profile in that right wing rag, Vanity Fair?

Ah, the classic Cookie Jar argument of the wingers. If you didn't slay them with the hand in the jar, then they got away with it. Nevermind that the camera we set up to guard the jar recorded their hand in the jar, recorded them eating the cookies, and recorded them giving the camera the finger. Nevermind that the dog which guards the camera was found dead, with an Elect Liar Bush lawn sign through the heart. Nevermind that the neighbors saw high-level Republicans lighting the fire that burned the house that held the cookie jar to the ground to destroy the evidence. Good thing the camera was on a network.
