The powder contained in the threatening letter sent to the Indonesian Ambassador for Australia at the Indonesian Embassy was harmless. The letter that accompanied the powder did not mention Schapelle Corby. It was mailed from Melbourne.

So does Australian Prime Minister John Howard back off his public insistence that the mailing is related to the Schapelle Corby case? You decide.

Meanwhile, the brief of evidence for another Australian arrested in Bali, Adelaide man John Julian Pyle, was last week handed to prosecutors. Pyle, 42, was arrested on May 8 after a police raid on his rented Ubud bungalow netted 1.8g of hashish. He faces a maximum 10-year term.

Police spokesman Wayan Widjana said yesterday that Pyle was being dealt with as a drug user not a drug dealer. Urine tests had been positive for drugs in his body.

    Nobody in Australia seems to think Howard's comment is a big deal. First, he qualified it very carefully, saying that he didn't know whether it was dangerous and not making definitive statements on the motives of the sender. Second, it's pretty obvious to everyone here that it's related to the Corby case. Pre-Corby: years of love fest between Australia and Indonesia, including massive and vocal Australian pride in their record charitable giving for the tsunami. Post-Corby: anti-Indonesian vitriol widespread in the media and in public opinion. Those that still refuse to see the connection are willfully ignorant.

    This woman will be disappeared inside that system, and if people don't acted she will be killed by that terror state, so is bush saying anything? don't think, he will, its also a slave state for big world money. by the way Talkleft did you hear what happened in the other terror state called Saudi Arabia? AND Sudan, syria, and unite arab emirates, do you know how many have been murdered inside the prisons?
