    I had the same scores.

Didn't need to take the test (but did anyway) to know that I am a socialist (though right on the cusp between Democrat and Socialist): 80% for the first score, 21% for the second. I seem to be in the center between Bono, Hillary, and Gandhi. I think I'm gonna be sick!

Re: Another Politics Test (none / 0) (#3)
by Talkleft Visitor on Sat Dec 17, 2005 at 01:04:16 PM EST
66%/11%... solidly socialist. (though, in economic terms, I think the designation stems mostly from my strongly pro-environment stance)

test, i don't need no stinkin' test! i already know where i stand (or sit, depending on the day & time): i'm a progressive totalitarian, conservatively economic. pretty much says it all! lol btw, what the heck is "economically permissive"? or dare i ask?

Uh oh.. Socialist. O heck, I already knew that.

80/16, Socialist. Not exactly news. I was annoyed at the number of questions for which "none of the above" was not offered as an alternative.

Another damned socialist..."You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness."

I am in the Trotskyite area - which is between Talkleft and the lower right corner. Those in the left part of the "Socialist" area likely are Stalinists.

78/71, Libertarian. Midway between Adam Sandler and the Unabomber. Lots of trick questions. "Being poor and black is an advantage in getting into college" is objectively true for admission to many colleges, controlling for all other variables, but being poor might make it impossible to pay the tuition and actually attend. I believe that "Social justice should be the foundation of any economic system", but, to me, letting people keep their money and spend it how they see fit is a form of "social justice".

With a 68%-23%, a "democrat." As a registered democrat it's no surprise. I think I'm an Adlai Stevenson democrat personally....

Is anyone ever surprised by these tests?

Hmm. 76/16 Socialist. I guess my distrust for business morality shows there, while I generally trust individuals.

Social 81%, Economic 56%. Which is about what I figured--I've always been a libertarian-leaning Democrat, which is exactly where I fall here.

Dumb test. Can't remember my numbers but I was below and to the right of your score (right brain?). Anyone who doesn't like corporations or wants prayer kept out of school is a socialist. People like Jefferson, Paine, etc.

Socialist?!? Me? A recovering Republican? I thought I was supposed to get more conservative as I tottered into my dotage. Damn! I've come a long way since Florida 2000.

I came up 80/10 "socialist". I always thought I was a garden variety Democratic party member. Google the definition of socialism: a political theory advocating state ownership of industry I don't advocate this. I have never advocated this. Yet based upon answers to questions (none of which asked me if I advocate state ownership of industry), I am labeled a socialist. I am an FDR Democrat, which means to me that I am a pragmatist. I don't believe government is the best solution to all problems, nor do I believe it is ipso facto the worst solution. But like FDR, I believe, we should try something, and if it doesn't work, try something else.

Oh, what a fun blogospheric game. As it turns out, I - The Lonewacko Blog am a Centrist. Apparently I answered the Death Cage question wrong. I'm just surprised that TL and ODuhhhb haven't contacted Barbara Boxer trying to pass a law requiring all bloggers to take the test and post their scores.

I really like Talkleft even though I consider myself a moderate (no, really) who leans slightly to the left. But, this quiz said I was a conservative, both social and economic. OUCH! Oh well, I still like you guys.

Socialist - 78%/17% If there are so many socialists out there, how about a socialist wing of the Democratic party?

Socialist. 90/5 whatever that means... Smack dab on Ghandi's chest.

Socialist 85/15. A scatter plot of these scores would be interesting. But what bad design to have the left wing on the right of the chart.

I'm with Cymro on matters of opinion and score. 85/15 blood red. And flip that chart -- put the left on the left is right. Say what? Everyone sing along now: "This land is your land, this land is my land, from California to the New York island..."
