Wednesday Open Thread

The calendar says it's my birthday, so I'm off to do something different, like work out at the gym and go shoe-shopping. Here's a space for you - what's on your mind today?

What?! Shoe shopping! Who do you think you are, Sec of State?? ;-) Enjoy and have a happy and remember: "Come grow old with me The best is yet to be The last of life for which the first was made..." (Actually Browning was fibbing, but the alternative is so bad...)

This is why I have a little liberal torch burning for the Poker Player from Texas -- because deep in the recesses of that chilly heart is a man who adores Jeralyn (the woman who IS this site). We're wearing the same skin, James. As the Beatles sang on their last platter: "Come together, right now, over J". Also, as per usual, a link to energy freedom. Get off the gasoline habit for good.

Yes, a very happy birthday to the hostess with the mostess. I know have to mentally prepare myself for a long, hard, anguished football season with Vinny Testaverde quarterbacking my beloved NY Jets. Ugh, and I thought the state of the union was depressing!

Since our govt. has a knack for declaring "war" on all of our problems, when can I expect to see the start of the "war on corruption and cronyism in govt.".

Happy Birthday Jeralyn. I hope it's a good one. And now for something completely different.....I bring to you another case of injustice not unlike Cindy Sheehan's latest escapade in DC. (With a hat tip to OPJ.com)

Like yourself, some years back, this birthday congratulations message was transmitted in a tiny packet, and then suddenly (and joyfully) expanded so it could be seen by people all over the world. Feliz Navidad from your friends in the West.
