Dowd Rakes Judy Over the Coals

Here's a free link to Maureen Dowd's Sunday column that ever so politely blasts Judith Miller. It begins with Dowd acknowledging she likes Judy. It then turns devastating and ends with this:

Judy told The Times that she plans to write a book and intends to return to the newsroom, hoping to cover "the same thing I've always covered - threats to our country." If that were to happen, the institution most in danger would be the newspaper in your hands.

Via Atrios: Steve Gilliard translates the Dowd column.

MoDo has pissed me off many many times. But when she gets serious she can really write and here she said what had to be said. Tropism is not a word one usually finds used by columnists. It was the perfect choice here, along with many other perfect choices. Bravo.

Ms Dowd write about Ms Miller. In other words: Ms Coal meets Ms kettle Black.

JC-apart from arbitrary innuendo what is the basis of your comparison, or are you just defending the grey lady.

Judas Miller covers threats to the country with Lancome. A splash of blood on both cheeks and a snip of the bangs, and there you have it. Her sallow complexion won't betray her. JUST RELEASED photos of J. Miller, coming out of meeting with Libby

mark this day well, it will be a first, and probably a last. i actually agree with jimcee. those were my exacts thoughts, as i read ms. "truth, we don't need no stinkin' truth, i just make this stuff up as i go along!" dowd's column, castigating ms. miller. what a hoot. the delicious irony is that ms. dowd actually thinks she's superior to ms. miller. she should go back, and read her own columns for the past 7 years, then consider self-flagellation, for the harm she did this country, by helping put bush in office. squeaky, how many links do you need anyway? geez!
