Bob Dylan to Host Radio Show on XM

Like thousands of others, I've been confused about whether to get XM or Sirius or neither. I've been leaning towards XM, and then I stop and ask myself what do I need either for? I can listen to Air America on local radio, I don't spend that much time in the car, and I can watch the news on cable. But I think I just found my reason, and my network.

Legendary folk rocker Bob Dylan will start a new career as a radio DJ when he launches a new weekly music show on XM Satellite Radio next March.... "Dylan will offer regular commentary on music and other topics, host and interview special guests including other artists and will take emails from XM subscribers," XM said.

A large part of XM is owned by Clear Channel...say no more....

if he talks as clearly as he sings, it will be the only show filled with total silence. actually, that might not be a bad thing.

Just when you think nothing he does will ever again surprise you...

the more things change, the more they remain the same. There was a time I could say in French, but no longer.

There's always been people that have to cause fear They've been talking of the war now for many long years I have read all their statements and I've not said a word But now Lawd God, let my poor voice be heard. Awe man...nobody's ever going to know what's going on. I guess the next slot is hosted by Ozzie Ozbourne in the "nobody can understand you" hour. :)

XM can have Dylan mumbling into a microphone. I'm a Sirius subscriber and can't wait to catch live sex acts on Stern's channel when I can keep the wife off the controls and avoid listening to decorating lessons on Martha Stewart. You can't bean that kind of line-up. Everybody wins on long road trips.

I'm a Sirius guy too. Looking forward to Stern...and the All Rolling Stones and All Bruce Springsteen stations play some real gems. Screw Clear Channel and their boring playlists repeated ad nauseum.

I don't think I've ever heard a song repeated on XM, but then blues and electronica aren't the most heavily commercialized genres out there.

Also, I hope you guys listening to Howard Stern's sex shows have vinyl seat covers.

Why such a hard decision, TL? With XM Radio, more of your dollars flow to News Corporation and Rupert Murdoch. With Sirius, it is less. Pretty simple decision.

I can’t imagine that XM or Sirius are much different; check out their online programming schedules. I subscribe to XM; I listen almost exclusively to news, some jazz, some punk, some comedy. I only wish they would ditch some of the garbage shows in favor of larger bandwidth for the music channels (in place of the FCC giving them a bigger slice of the band), my hard fought and very expensive audio system is wasted.
