Markos on Meet the Press

Markos of Daily Kos was on Meet the Press today (transcript here) discussingYearly Kos which took place this weekend in Las Vegas. Crooks and Liars has the video.

Among other topics, Markos discusses why we are opposed to Joe Lieberman. It's not just because he supports the war. It's because he undermines the Democratic party. Even Hillary Clinton, who as of now clearly is not our favorite, doesn't do that. He also said that if Lieberman wins the primary, the net rooters will support him.

Markos agreed with Russert that "the blogosphere has become to liberal activists what talk radio is to conservative activists."

He acknowledged bloggers may not be able to pull off an election win. But, there are important things we can do:

We can generate the buzz, we can raise some money, and we can act as a rapid reaction force the way that conservative talk radio and conservative television like Fox News has done for so long.

Markos on Hillary:

She actually has voted the right way on pretty much everything except maybe the Iraq war. So the disdain that people have for Hillary a lot, is not because she's too liberal or too conservative or too moderate or anything else like that. This is the picture that a lot of people in Washington, D.C., want to paint. The reason Hillary Clinton isn't necessarily well liked is because she's seen as part of the establishment, as part of the people that brought us the troubles that the Democratic Party is suffering today.

MR. RUSSERT: Do you think the blogosphere has become to liberal activists what talk radio is to conservative activists?
Is ol' Stormy Brows reading TL or Huffpo for his material? And why can't he attribute that strong characterization to Adam Nagourney/NYT, as he should?
