I'm very proud to announce TalkLeft's first video promo. It was produced by Actor Will Keenan and designed and edited by 3rdi of Intellectual Design and Defcon Films 2006. The theme:

"Believe in people powered politics. Crises precipitate change. Let's right their wrongs before there is nothing left to talk about."

It's on You Tube, I hope you will watch and go over to rate it.

    Can you slow this thing down? A lot of pretty pictures, but I couldn't read the text.

    You can see the level of work and craftsmanship that went into this. However, if you'd never seen TalkLeft, you wouldn't get much idea of it from the promo. You could take out references to TL and plug in pretty much any left-leaning blog. I'm hoping that TalkLeft: The Video Game is better.

    I agree with the too fast part. Just a bit too fast, but too fast. I am curious as to why this was developed and what your plans are with this. The "inspired by" makes me think this was developed on its own (for a contest?) Keenan has a great voice.

    Nice effort but, as a professional tv editor I have to say that this does not work at all. Very amatureish. You flash all this text up on the screen for a second or so and you can't read ANY of it. I'd stick with the photos (larger) and just a few eye-catching headlines, and STAY ON "TALK LEFT" long enough for it to register. Whom is this meant to appeal to?

    You guys need some stock footage of real moving people, and maybe a clip of someone at their computer logging onto TL. As it is, it's not bad, but just too much flat print moving too fast. Also, you could use various voices reading some of your favorite commenter posts, get a sense of the debate if engenders in those who visit the site. I dunno, just some ideas. But suddenly this is sounding like every story meeting I've had in Hollywood -- it's great, now just change everything. At least you're trying.
