Powerline Attempting Another GOP "Dramatization?"

(Guest Post by Big Tent Democrat)

Powerline's John Hinderaker says:

Just A Thought

First the Senate Democrats browbeat a television network into changing a program so it won't reflect badly on a Democratic administration. Then a Senate committee puts out a report that airbrushes history, leaving out the most important evidence of links between Iraq and al Qaeda, for the sole purpose of making a Republican administration look bad. I think it's really important to work hard to get a Republican majority in the Senate, so the Dems won't be able to pull stunts like these!

Geez, did ABC not run "Path to Truthiness" when I wasn't looking? And Bill Frist and Pat Roberts, the Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman, are Democrats now? No kidding. What, if anything, is Hinderaker up to? Some possibilities in extended.

DK at TPM asks:

I've been going back and forth on whether this is the sarcastic post of a conservative irritated with Republicans on the Senate Intel Committee--or some bizarre new GOP meme that the Dems really control the Senate.

Possibly either one of those. But coming from the guy who wrote this:

It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can't get anyone to notice. He is like a great painter or musician who is ahead of his time, and who unveils one masterpiece after another to a reception that, when not bored, is hostile.

I gotta believe it is just run of the mill stupidity

What seems to matter most at TL is who's ox is being gored. The stupid uproar over the Reagan docudrama was something TL abhored; TL is all in favor of going after ABC's effort. Taking dramatic license when bashing the opposition is ok, but hitting your side is bad - there's a word for that. begins with an h, ends in y.

from what I see these guys have nothing to complain about the 2 hour gop commercial.

James Robertson: I can only speak for myself, and I do not speak for Jeralyn or Chris btw, but I didn't care about the Reagan show and paid no attention to it whatsoever. Some folks protested and CBS did what it did. I don't see the problem. The governemnt was not involved so what should I have cared on that? That Reagan was unfairly smeared? I admit it did not matter to me. I cared about this and protested ABC's actions. ABC ignored the protests and ran their show. You don't care about the unfair smears in the ABC show. Your right and who am I to criticize you for not caring? I don't criticize you. How that adds up to hypocrisy in your mind is probably something John Hinderaker can explain, but the rest of us will chalk it up to you being a Republican, Occam's Razor.

big diff in that the reagan documentary wouldn't affect an election,.

Sailor... big diff in that the reagan documentary wouldn't affect an election,. What's the matter... afraid that showing Billy boy actually screwed the pooch on the terrorist thing might hurt the Dems?....LOL Not to worry...none of you believe anything but the DNC talking points anyway...facts never get in the way of a good Dem (liberal).... Any facts are passed off as a conspiracy or repub lies.... aye? People (you) are already screaming that ABC is lying about Clinton... So let him sue. Fat chance of that...then the truth will come out and trust me...Mr Clinton doesn't want that! Your move....

BB... Fact: Ronnie Reagan called Osama and the rest of the Islamofascist fundie nut cases "freedom fighters" in 1985. Fact: As late as 1998 (after the African embassy bombings) Orrin Hatch (R-Utah)was saying that giving Osama and the rest of the Islamofascist fundie nut cases millions of dollars in weapons "was worth it". Fact: The GOP congress seemed much more interested in Clinton's penis than in Osama during the period of time you are referring to. Fact: Dumbya Bush doesn't care where Bin Laden is and lost interest in finding him AFTER 9/11. So never mind what Clinton did before 9/11, your dufus-in-chief doesn't care to find him NOW. Your move.

Ernesto... Do you have trouble following history? Let me give you an example... 1775 - England, our enemy 1975 - England, our friend 1941 - Japan our enemy 1991 - Japan our friend Are you following here? In 1985 the USSR was our enemy. Osama (who was fighting the occupation of his country by them) was our friend. Ever here of the statement: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"? OK..still with me here? The GOP congress seemed much more interested in Clinton's penis So its' all the GOP's fault. I've heard Cliton was like teflon...but that's a new one! He is still your knight in shining armour isn't he? :-) Dumbya Bush doesn't care where Bin Laden is and lost interest in finding him AFTER 9/11 Wrong again. It was 9/11 that finally got us intersted in finding him again. (seeing how Clinton let him go several times) And....we are still looking for him.. and if the NYT doesn't print how...we will get him. All Bush said (some time ago) was he wasn't the priority he once was. Doesn't mean we stopped looking. Your move. (I noticed you said nothing about Clinton sueing for slander? And where's Sailor...you fighting his/her battles now?)
