I've joked a few times I wouldn't be surprised if Trump were to make Ivanka his running mate -- or appoint Don Jr.'s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle to be Attorney General if he gets re-elected (because she would dismiss the federal indictments against him, relieving him of the need to spend years in court debating whether he has the power to pardon himself).

But I missed the real mark: It's Eric's wife Lara Trump who Donald Trump is promoting for Co-Chair of the Republican Party.

Can no one in this family get where they want to go on their own credentials and experience? Apparently not. Except for Jared Kushner, who finally got it through his thick skull that he is rich enough not to have to step in the dog doo that follows his father-in-law everywhere he goes. In a recent interview, Jared says he won't be involved in a second Trump administration, should there be one.

    Meanwhile, everybody in the media distracted by the GOP's quixotic pursuit of Hunter Biden, which got somewhat messy today with Special Counsel David Weiss' indictment of their star witness, FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, on two felony counts: (1) Lying to the FBI about President Joe Biden's involvement in son Hunter's business affairs; and (2) Fabricating evidence to support those lies.

    Republicans are cruisin' for a real bruisin' this November.

    There are already post election plans by Trump to decimate federal civil service.  If elected up to 50,00 civil service employees will lose their career protections and be replaced by political appointees.  We will then have a government that is only "responsive to the political desires of Trump rather than to the Constitution and the law."  This means that we will have a less competent government which may be what grifters like Trump want.

    No one seems very excited about this trial but I think it could be very bad for Trump.  Politically.  He is going to sit there day after day and there is going to be some very unsavory tales told.  Rehashed ad nauseum by the media.

    Trump knows what is coming. Judge Juan Merchan does not suffer fools. Today he put a gag order on Trump. Trump went after Merchan's daughter. I hope she is safe. He is the judge that put Allen Weiselberg in prison twice. Of course, he's an immigrant from Colombia so I'm sure there will be "he can't be fair because he's Hispanic" rhetoric coming at him too.

    in Lake Placid (viewpoint at nearby Saranac Lake) NY, with our three grown daughters, their three excellent spouses and three grandchildren (ages 2, 5 and 6).  All 11 of us in a big, ridiculous, party-house-type AirBnB. Weather cooperated (after some anxiety about that). Very well planned by middle daughter and son-in-law.  And we got to visit the John Brown Farm (NY State Park) just a mile away, a well designed and educational monument to radical antiracism. The trek from home was about eight hours each way (to make the 6-1/2 hr non-stop drive). A friend just asked whether doing this made us "totalitarians."

He passed out face-first front of the house in a shallow drainage ditch, which contained 6-8 inches of water. And that's where family members found him the following morning, having drowned.

    that the  appellate judges  reduced the bond, stayed the penalty of  Trump , Junior and Eric  to run the business, and  continue  to allow them  to get their hands on  more money from New York banks ( banks  willing), but keep in place the independent monitor, former  US District  Court Judge,  Barbara  Jones.

    The independent monitor suggests the judges  do not have confidence  in  the Trump's  capabilities and the likelihood  to run their operations  without  the fraudulent practices charged by the Attorney General of New York.  If that  is the case, the  other  parts of the  appellate decision is inconsistent.
