Shake Up Inside Saddam's Legal Team

Saddam Hussein's family has fired all his lawyers except one, Iraqi lawyer Khalil Dulaimi.

"There are too many people in the world who are claiming they are defending the president without the family's knowledge and we don't know who authorized them," said Abdel Haq Alani, the legal consultant of Raghd, Saddam's eldest daughter who is authorized to act on behalf of the ousted leader's family.

He told Reuters Saddam's family had revoked any right of attorney previously issued to any lawyers to represent Saddam, and had chosen Iraqi lawyer Khalil Dulaimi who attends Saddam's court hearings as the "only authorized lawyer at this moment."

Curiously, this is one of the reasons, according to Abdel Haq Alani, the legal consultant for Saddam's daughter:

"If you have too many lawyers then who is the client to sue if there is negligence?"

If there is negligence in this case, Saddam will be dead and not suing anyone. It sounds like Mr. Alani is looking out more for Saddam's family then for Saddam. They would be the ones to bring a lawsuit.

It sounds like Mr. Alani is looking out more for Saddam's family then for Saddam. Yeah, so? That's his job. Saddam HAS an attorney. Cut the subjective (aka crap). You're showing your bias already. Remember, we armed him.

Just as long as he is dead.

Strange. Dulaimi has not appeared as anything more than a puppet in this joke of a trial. Not, that there is much to go on here, as so much about Saddam has been kept under wraps. What ever happened with Chalabi's attempt to oust Saddam's Baathist Judge Raid Juhi, who has acted like a circus dog for his Americans trainers in the past? His first Judge was Salem Chalabi, a close relative of the convicted fraudster and former Pentagon favourite Ahmed Chalabi. Will the world ever get to hear from Saddam ala a Nuremberg type trial? Most likely not; he will meet his maker before we hear to much from him.

Che, You don't do tough-guy shtick very well. Stick to the bored faux-intellectual routine. It's you. TL, Yes, it does look like this lawyer is representing the family. Saddam's family will have lots of money stashed away in accounts around the world from their rootin' tootin' lootin' days when they were in charge. The family might be worried at this pt that having several independent lawyers with full access to family info - some of which might inevitably be wanted by Saddam as some form of evidence in his defence - would expose knowledge of those funds to scrutiny, and quite possibly repatriation. The line about having someone to sue sounds a lot like deliberate misdirection; too obvious.

Heeeey, we have a family just like that in our country. Unfortunately, they are rootin, tootin, and lootin as we speak. Can't wait for their trial.

I wonder, what does Saddam have to say about his representation? He must, at the moment have duct tape covering his mouth.

So how would the iraqi court get a death penalty on poor saddam? when saddam that poor rat has so many links to the u.s. government and the saudi's and are great ruler Bush? if the state kills our poor saddam wouldn't it have to so go after our great president Bush and the other's who ordered the killing of kids here in our great empire? so i understand that saddam only really killed 100,000 of his own people and our great boys called "president", only killed 150 old and kids under;Note: one day old. so i say kill saddam now so we can put 3 presidents on death row at once. it would be justice. Bush (1)( fine 90 billion dollars ) clinton ( he can't have any more woman for 2 weeks) Bush (2) all need prison, at once. Victory over evil is always good, where is bin laden? or is bin laden looking for bush? in mexico?

"Heeeey, we have a family just like that in our country. Unfortunately, they are rootin, tootin, and lootin as we speak. Can't wait for their trial." Pay no attention to that missing 16 Billion (that's with a B) dollars missing from Iraq. Weren't they supposed to be administered by Cheneyburton? Oh well, you know, it's only enough money to build four new supercarriers. I bet the government wouldn't mind if four carriers simply disappeared. Right?

Hey people the real Agenda is set in rocks of the ideals of real freedom from total corruption and total enslavement by our own government, this is not about money or family or freedom its about the ideals of world control and mass murder, where is bin laden? the fact is our government is Dorian Gray and will use Bin Laden and saddam and you for control.
