Fitzgerald Speaks: Decision to be Announced in D.C.

The ever-secretive Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald announced today that the outcome of the Valerie Plame leak investigation will be announced in Washington, not Chicago.

"If and when there would be any announcement, it would be made in Washington," said Randall Samborn, Fitzgerald's spokesman....It is unusual for Fitzgerald's office to offer comment on any aspect of the case and Monday's statement led some observers to wonder if it might be a signal that a decision was imminent or that Fitzgerald was trying to increase pressure on potential targets to cut a deal.

That tells me there will be indictments. The case is in D.C., and anyone indicted will have to surrender and appear for court there. If there weren't going to be indictments, Fitzgerald could make that announcement from anywhere.

I just can't stand these "Peril of Pauline" or should I say Peril of Plame announcements! Oh oh Oh How am I gonna sleep tonite?

Is it just me, or is Fitzgerald the quietest, most media-avoidant prosecutor Washington has ever seen?

I'm not sure who WILL be indicted (if anybody) but I have an idea who SHOULD be indicted: Judy's Old Flame

It will be interesting and informative to read Fitzgerald's case against the conspirators.

How can you sleep ANY night, Ed? I guess because the "modern world" hasn't made it to your block. • The desperate cellphone calls from innocent friends of your relatives, whose children were melted by US incendiary weapons, and who haven't had any potable water since the Americans took over their country, so the children's grandparents died from dysentery. Ho hum. Everybody's got problems. (Actually, they haven't had any drinking water since the US ILLEGALLY DESTROYED THEIR CIVILIAN WATER FACILITIES). • The hurried email from the school chum who landed the great overseas job at Brewster, telling you that the Libyan Secret Police were coming up his staircase because a crooked US administration outed him to the press. Please tell his family goodbye. Who cares? Yeah, don't bother Ed. He's sleeping.

I just saw on CNN that the grand jury was meeting today. Is that correct? I had thought they only were meeting on Wednesdays and Fridays. Is this a sign that something's coming soon?
