Embattled Tom DeLay won his primary race by a wide margin.

Update: John Nichols provides analysis at The Nation, and says maybe Texas will mess with Delay.

    What? That a multi-term, former majority leader survived a Primary after actually having to actively campaign for the first time since...when? Knock yourself out, Jim. It's no more bad taste or at odds with reality than normal.

    Was there ever any expectation that the GOP would not give him the nomination? I'll bet there are more than a few sore republican arms in Sugar Land. The real test will come on November 8 when, as Democratic nominee for the seat Nick Lampson said Tuesday: "I'm looking forward to that headline on November 8th: 'No Further DeLay.'"

    bigunit12 - Before you make too big a fool of yourself perhaps you should go back to that post. The post, in case you don't remember was about MARINES. Marines do not draft. They take only volunteers and not all of those. So yes, there was a contract. If you want to argue the point, please go the other post.

    Jim, you've had nothing to say since you waddled into town. There's no substance or foundation to your assertions. It's invariably nothing more than your half-baked opinions about your vision of a perfect world. Bogus links to right wing rubbish web sites do not improve in volume. It's just a bigger pile of crap. As for Vietnam, Ford Pardoned them. He kinda had to after pardoning that slimeball, nixon. Carter Pardoned them. Deal with it. If you don't like it, that's too damned bad. It's also irrelevant. Speaking of irrelevant, the thought that anyone, anywhere would or could sustain a level of interest great enough to go back through the archives to research your positions on this, that or the other as if they were interesting, intelligent, valid or well-founded and as if they give you political and/or intellectual cover on other issues is absurd and indicates a level of megalomania and narcissism rarely seen outside of Sharon Stone's dressing room.     Yeah, that, some crooked dealings with an auto dealership, the standard rovesputin lies and deceit and, of course, the metaphorical reptilian ace in the hole, the small pox-drenched shipment of blankets for the Indian Reservations and you get a 2-3 percent win in a State that shrub carried by 18 percent. Wow.
