What can be said? Republicans in TX-22 are objectively pro-corruption.

Well, chalk one up for the bad guys. Anyone know what his platform was? "Look over there! Boys kissing!" Won for Thune in SD.

What? That a multi-term, former majority leader survived a Primary after actually having to actively campaign for the first time since...when? Knock yourself out, Jim. It's no more bad taste or at odds with reality than normal.

jim, your very existence is in bad taste, anyone want a real hoot, read the post about Vietnam, where Jim says being drafted was the same as signing a contract. Jim, you get funnier everyday.

Was there ever any expectation that the GOP would not give him the nomination? I'll bet there are more than a few sore republican arms in Sugar Land. The real test will come on November 8 when, as Democratic nominee for the seat Nick Lampson said Tuesday: "I'm looking forward to that headline on November 8th: 'No Further DeLay.'"

bigunit12 - Before you make too big a fool of yourself perhaps you should go back to that post. The post, in case you don't remember was about MARINES. Marines do not draft. They take only volunteers and not all of those. So yes, there was a contract. If you want to argue the point, please go the other post.

Would saying I told you so be in bad taste? When has the possibility of being in bad taste ever stopped you before? But, to answer your question, no, as long as you gotta link so that there's this little thing called proof so that you can at least be accurate and tasteful/less, YMMV.

charlie and Dark - Typical. Neither of you have anything to say, so you just resort to the insult. Thanks for keeping the facts about who you are front and center for all to see.

I merely asked a question and asked for something to substantiate your claim, PPJ. If you don't want answers you don't like to your questions, don't ask them on a publicly avaliable forum such as here. Thanks for keeping the facts about who you are front and center for all to see. And thanks for showing that you have no backing for your claim of "told you so". Charlie, more Vermont cheese here at table 6 to go with Jim's whine..............

Comin' right up! None for the likes of him, though. Velveeta only for the wacks. They can't tell the difference. They just do the must shill for shrub. must shill for shrub. must shill for shrub shuffle no matter what. Toss a little Velveeta in that hamster cage, they start shufflin' no matter what. If shrub was for this ports thing, they'd be for it. If he was against it, they'd be against it. Rovesputin's gotta tell 'em what the uniform of the day is. They're lost until that memo comes down.

Jim, you've had nothing to say since you waddled into town. There's no substance or foundation to your assertions. It's invariably nothing more than your half-baked opinions about your vision of a perfect world. Bogus links to right wing rubbish web sites do not improve in volume. It's just a bigger pile of crap. As for Vietnam, Ford Pardoned them. He kinda had to after pardoning that slimeball, nixon. Carter Pardoned them. Deal with it. If you don't like it, that's too damned bad. It's also irrelevant. Speaking of irrelevant, the thought that anyone, anywhere would or could sustain a level of interest great enough to go back through the archives to research your positions on this, that or the other as if they were interesting, intelligent, valid or well-founded and as if they give you political and/or intellectual cover on other issues is absurd and indicates a level of megalomania and narcissism rarely seen outside of Sharon Stone's dressing room. "Well, enough about me. Let's talk about you. What do you think of me?" Again, you're just another shrub shill, Jim. You're right off the rack. Always a pleasure.

As I said, boys. You can't win on facts so you just launch personal insults. And charlie... Links? Comments about links from someone who has never used a link? You know, I guess you don't know how, have no one to ask how and are too slow to figure it out. In the meantime, Delay is set to be re-elected. Ta Ta.

Now, this was before you felt compelled to call yourself PPJ, but it seems to be that your diagnosis is correct, if misdirected.
You know, I guess you don't know how, have no one to ask how and are too slow to figure it out.
Or perhaps he's smart enough to realize that providing you links is a sleeveless errand, IMHO. In the meantime, Delay is set to be re-elected. Ta Ta. When he's 8 points behind in the latest polls, your confidence is charming, if not risible. Just remember, charlie and I are the guys watching you enjoy your whine :)

"Links". Go ahead and provide ppj with links. Just make sure its a site to the right of The Spectator,(or The John Birch monthly newsletter); you know, a site that dosnt "have an agenda", or,"an obvious axe to grind".

You say a lotta silly stuff. Who listens? Facts, schmacts. What did I tell ya about this slop. Bogus links don't grow better in volume. It just makes for a bigger pile of crap. For example. You choose to provide five links which supposedly exonerate your boy. You lead off with a 2/10/04 Boston Globe Article. Surprising choice for you, Jim. A reputable publication. Let's see the article. Bush credited for Guard drills But time frame leaves questions By Walter V. Robinson, Globe Staff, 2/10/2004 Gee, that's certainly definitive. Nothin' vague or wishy-washy about that. So, that's the cornerstone of your case, eh? With a foundation like that, I'll just pull an Otis Redding and watch the tide roll in. Link 2, boils down to Turnipseed regrets comments about not rememberin seeing Bush reporting for Guard Duty in early 70s. Revised statement: He still doesn't remember seeing him, but he regrets making the remarks. Translation: Rovesputin called and said. We know where your whole family tree lives. If you screw with us, no one will ever see them again. It'll be as if they never existed. We control the horizontal. We control the vertical. They will never be vertical again. Link 3, is yet some more scratchy micro film that suddenly turned up according to that universally acknowledged straight shooter, scott mcclellan, but the real confirmation came from a woman who knew bush socially some 32 or 33 years ago. "We went out to dinner a couple of times and he said he was going to do this and that and that he was going to come back and rent an apartment and there was no other reason for him to do so." Well, I guess you've got me there Jim. Lord knows no other man in history has been less than completely candid in a situation like that, so it's inconceivable that a man with shrub's record for "truthiness" over these years would be the first. Link 4 gives us more of the same from Emily - the girlfriend where "that's what he told me and why else would he do it?" is offered as air-tight evidence. Maybe in the bizarro world. Not in this one. Link 5 gives us Wingnuts for bush. More worthless half-baked blather that fails to hold water. Gee, Jim. Why didn't ya lead with this? That's what I thought. Always a pleasure.

Yeah, that, some crooked dealings with an auto dealership, the standard rovesputin lies and deceit and, of course, the metaphorical reptilian ace in the hole, the small pox-drenched shipment of blankets for the Indian Reservations and you get a 2-3 percent win in a State that shrub carried by 18 percent. Wow.
