Next Weekend: Morning After at the Tank

The Tank in New York City was home to Democratic bloggers, including us, during the Republican National Convention. If you're can make it to New York next weekend, the Tank is hosting a conference for online activists about the election:

The election is over. The campaign cannot end. What do we say after the mourning on the Morning After?

THE MORNING AFTER A Symposium November 13-14.

A day-and-a-half of conversations, panels, working groups and more.

Hosted by Cosmopolity at The Tank - 432 W 42nd St NYC.

Why? The 2004 election saw an explosion of grassroots activity, online organizing, voter registration initiatives, new forms of media and progressive unity. We fell short on November 2, but the movement, the organizations, their members and our progressive energy are as important as ever.

Where do we focus next? How do we cultivate this energy into something more? What do we need to turn this movement into a decisive force?

Who?Join grassroots organizers, representatives of national networks, on-line activists, new media pundits, and rising figures in the progressive movement for a discussion of how liberal energy can remain focused and effective following the 2004 race.

When? The Morning After will be held Saturday, November 13 9am-6pm & Sunday, November 14 10am-2pm. On Saturday evening, the symposium will be followed by dinner and a party, The ReConvention.

How? The Morning After Symposium is free to participants, including breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.

To attend, please RSVP to Justin Krebs at justin@cosmopolity.org. Please indicate whether you will attend one or both days. While there is no cost, we do ask you respect your RSVP as our arrangements will depend on the number of attendees.

I'll be looking forward to receiving reports of the symposium. It couldn't come at a better time. Justin Krebs, owner of the Tank, deserves special mention for making the site available again. It's a performance art space, and I'm sure on a Saturday night he could have some acts there earning money instead of hosting a free event for bloggers.
