Frost, Roemer Drop Out, Dean in Front for DNC Chair

Update: Burnt Orange Report got a phone call from Tim Roemer's office saying he's dropping out too. He didn't want to announce on the same day as Frost.

original post

Martin Frost dropped out of the race for DNC Chair today. So did David Leland. Wellington Webb dropped out yesterday. Donnie Fowler got some bad press related to the Michigan Kerry campaign (he was its Director.)

Fowler says the AFL-CIO's decision not to endorse a candidate should be viewed as a statement against Dean. That may be a stretch. Tim Roemer's anti-abortion views have killed his bid, although he wouldn't agree and hasn't dropped out yet.

That leaves Howard Dean. If Dean does something to muck it up, Simon Rosenberg is still intact.

Right now it's Dean, Fowler, Rosenberg, with Dean in first place with a healthy lead. Any of those three is fine with us.

Whoo, hoo! Maybe he can get Eason Jordan as his communication director? Al $harpton as CFO and CCO? Good lord. -C

Rosenberg is out, too, according to Donnie Fowler's website: "In the last two days, several candidates have withdrawan from the race for chair -- David Leland, Martin Frost, Simon Rosenberg, and Wellington Webb. Only three remain, including Governor Dean, Former Congressman Tim Roemer, and myself. And only I and Dean have proven that we have the message and organization to gather any substantial support. It's a two-man race."

And that's the end of the Democratic party.

Why? Because we will have someone who is able to garner support? Because he is not afraid to speak his mind and stand up for what he believes? I don't think thats a bad thing. But then, I am not a Republican.

Steve A - And there will be a smaller and smaller number of you as time goes on. Democratic Party true-believers, I mean. -C

Howard Dean is the perfect choice to lead the Democratic party. His calm, quiet strength and steady sense of purpose impresses us all; he was governor of a populous, industrial state and dealt successfully with major urban issues; his military career is distinguished; his down-home, Lincolnesque earthiness will play well in the Midwest, South and Rocky Mountain States where the Democrats need to make inroads. I look forward to a renovated Democratic party under the leadership of Dean.

Taking the advice of freeper trolls where the Dem. leadership is concerned would be no different than asking the opposing coach to critique your gameplan just before the contest.

Adept H - Based on past results I would say any help you can get would be an improvement. But enshrine Dean. His strategy last time was so good that the Repubs won all the way around.

PPJ- Last time I checked, I hadn't expressed an opinion on Dean one way or the other. I simply pointed out the foolishness of taking coaching advice from the other team. You, of course, are free to assume whatever you want about me. You will anyway.

Jim, you can mistake the results of massive vote fraud for 'success' for as long as you like, but those are facts in evidence. The difference between you and me is that even if R win, I want fair elections. You, an ideologue, you want the power because you're writing history in lightning (and burning swastikas). Your kind of bluster is well done. Ever think of being a Bible salesman?
