The Wednesday Funnies : Open Thread

Origin and author unknown--somewhere in the Keys...

President Bush was invited to address a major gathering of the American Indian Nation last weekend in Arizona. He spoke for almost an hour on his future plans for increasing every Native American's present standard of living. He referred to his career as Governor of Texas, how he had signed "YES" 1,237 times - for every Indian issue that came to his desk for approval.

Although the President was vague on the details of his plan, he seemed most enthusiastic about his future ideas for helping his "red brothers." At the conclusion of his speech, the Tribes presented the President with a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name - Walking Eagle. The proud President then departed in his motorcade, waving to the crowds.

A news reporter later inquired to the group of chiefs of how they came to select the new name given to the President.

They explained that Walking Eagle is the name given to a bird so full of sh*t that it can no longer fly.

Man that's an old joke. Is this all the Left is finally reduced to, then, as it ends? Not with a bang, but with a whimper....

Old joke, dumb joke...business-as-usual guffaws. Doesn't wipe off a drop of the innocent blood splattered all over the criminal-in-chief. Ward Churchill's point about the gross corporate/gov't impoverishment of the first people's, and the ongoing legal demand against the execrable SecInt Norton (and, to be fair, Clinton's cabinet dialtone on the subject, and Daschle's failure in this regard), tell us more about Flying Pig than Walking Eagle. Cue the mountain of guffawing racists. Senator Non-credo from CO must have something suitably bigoted to say on the subject. He must be too busy cutting down our last forests to make toothpicks and tongue depressors.

I think walking turkey would be a more appropriate bird. The Eagle is a bird of prey and probably worshiped by the American Indians. kdog While our President was to busy getting what you so casually refer to as “trim”, Osama bin Laden got away 3 times and was then able to continue his war on America that lead to the death of almost 3,000 Americans. But don’t take my word for it, just read the 9/11 commission report.

The White House doctor was summoned to the presidential bedroom one morning and was horrifed to see President Bush sitting on the edge of the bed with an enormous toad on his head. "Good Lord!" the doctor exclaimed, "What's going on here?" "Dunno, Doc", replied the toad, "It started out as a wart on my ass!"

Gee, do you think that chasing Clinton with every scurrilous attack they could think up might have had a negative effect on Clinton's ability to perform this important duty? BB conveniently ignores the fact that his indiscretions occured at 2 AM while he WAS STILL IN THE OFFICE WORKING, and he was set up. Bush, on the other hand, has been on vacation more than any president in modern history, including his month long August 2001 vacation, the ignored 50 warnings, the ignored Tenet-with-hair-on-fire, the ignored Congressional terrorism report (Feb 01), the ignored warnings from Clinton and his staff, etc. And, unlike Clinton, Bush as C-in-C has DIRECT responsibility for ObL's escape from Tora Bora WITH THE ENTIRE US MILITARY ON SITE. Had Clinton attempted a full military attack on Tora Bora, you $R would have cut him to shreds, and we have the quotes from characters like Orin Hatch to prove it. Once again, Lying $Rep Strategy #1: Blame Clinton, trotted out to give cover to the fat arse of the unelected, out-to-lunch, giggling jackass traitor. Do you expect an academy award? What a hackjob.

"While our President was to busy getting what you so casually refer to as “trim”, Osama bin Laden got away 3 times and was then able to continue his war on America that lead to the death of almost 3,000 Americans." But when Bin Laden's war lead to the death of almost 3k Americans on 9/11, BUSH was president. Simply put, so you can understand it, it's ALL Bush's fault; Bush is a MURDERER: he killed all those people. So there.

Dan Rather, Peter Jennings and a Marine were captured by the terrorists. The chief terrorist came to them and said: We really are not unciviled. So before we saw your heads off on TV, we will grant you a last request. Jenninngs said, well I would like to hear "Oh Canada" one last time. The chief terrorist called some musiciains and they played it. Rather said, "I am a newsman, so "I'd like to set my camera up so I can record my own tape of our beheading. The terrorist said. "No problem. We'll drop the tape off at CBS in Paris." The rerrorist turned to the Marine and said, "What do you desire?" "Kick me in the as*," the marine said. "What, you mock us," said the terrrorist." "No, that's what I want," said the Marine. So the terrorist kicked the Marine. The Marine then did a back flip, pulled a concealed pistol from his shirt, shot the chief and in the confusion that followed, recovered his rifle and shot all of the terrorists. Rather and Jennings were almost speechless. "Why, why did you wait so long to save us?" asked Rather The Marine replied. "And have you as*holes declare me the aggressor?"

Paul In LA - You are just so full of it. But my desire to demontrate the vast empty space between your ears overcomes my other desire to giggle so hard I can't type. Re your lastest Bush BS comment that starts, "Bush, on the other hand.." Dear Boy, here is what Richard Clarke, hardly a Bush fan, but someone who was there, said: "Clarke...So, point five, that process which was initiated in the first week in February, uh, decided in principle, uh in the spring to add to the existing Clinton strategy and to increase CIA resources, for example, for covert action, five-fold, to go after Al Qaeda. And then... "CLARKE: No, it came up in April and it was approved in principle and then went through the summer. And you know, the other thing to bear in mind is the shift from the rollback strategy to the elimination strategy. When President Bush told us in March to stop swatting at flies and just solve this problem, then that was the strategic direction that changed the NSPD from one of rollback to one of elimination." Here, educate yourself, if that is possible.

Dubya, Dick and Condi were captured by terrorists and sentenced to be executed: Dick went before the firing squad, and the executioner said, "Ready, Aim..." Dick hollered "Tornado!" Everyone ducked for cover and in the confusion, Dick escaped. Condi was next... same thing happend. Just as the triggers were about to be pulled she yelled, "Tsunami!" Everyone headed for higher ground, and she got away. Finally, Dubya's turn. The captain of the squad says, "Ready! Aim!..." and Dubya yells "FIRE!!!"

Kdog I know that my side is far from perfect. My apologies if I insinuated such. Does the current administration hold some responsibilities for 9/11? oh yes. Does the previous administration? Yes. Mr no-name @ 1:23pm & 1:25pm? If you had any credible evidence that disproves the 9/11 report, I would be more than happy to look at it? Your argument that President Bush murdered those people is ludicrous. He from what I can tell, was not the one flying the planes. Maybe President Clinton murdered those people by failing to depose of OBL after he declared war on America in 1996, or the 1998 attacks on our embassies in Africa and the 1999 attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, you don’t even want me get started on the whole 1992-93 Mogadishu thing. I don’t think there is proof that either President murdered anyone.

"Posted by sc: "just because he was getting a 'job' doesn't mean he was working. Seems like she was doing all the work." Har-har! What a hilarious, why that's just too funny. Did you work hard on that yourself? Or did you have help? "And as long as you're yelling empty, untrue rants (the entire u.s. military was on site?), " OK, you're right, the entire military wasn't on site. In fact, the Taliban warlords were given the task of stopping Al Qaeda from escaping across the Pak border. WHY? You fell right into the trap. Bush as C-in-C LET BIN LADEN GO. He then diverted the TINY number of troops he put on his trail in order to illegally invade Iraq, a country that had NOTHING to do with the entire mess, as has now been proven. And you can't blame Clinton for any of that. Bush -- longest and most frequent vacations in modern US history. Seen by millions of Americans saying "Now watch this drive" at the golf course where he was blowing off his duties. Was out back cutting the brush while ignoring FIFTY warnings. Sat like a stupid buffoon in a preschool while men and women were jumping to their deaths. And it just goes on and on. Bush makes Clinton look like a Swiss Army knife of Newton, Da Vinci, and Casanova, compared to Bush, who looks, acts, and talks like the moral retard with a cr*p education that he is. He doesn't invent, he doesn't discover -- he just destroys.

Paul in LA Where you aware that Congress gives the President the Power to wage war. The blame must then be equally shared. Did you also know that back in 1999 President Clinton was the one using locals tribes to hunt OBL, President Bush merely continued this practice. So, I ask, why was it ok for President Clinton and not President Bush?

Re: The Wednesday Funnies : Open Thread (none / 0) (#54)
by Talkleft Visitor on Thu Feb 17, 2005 at 08:31:18 AM EST
Paul in LA, no I didn't have help -- I thunk it up all on my lonesome. Now as to the other stuff..... I'm no Bush apologist. He's screwed up a fair amount in this war. But some of these criticisms are just a little over the top. Re Tora Bora, I don't remember Taliban warlords being used by us, I kinda thought they were on the other side. But who knows. As the saying goes, there are no permanent allies, only permanent interests; sometimes your enemies last week are your allies this week. It was good enough for WWI, WWII and just about every war we've ever fought. And we/they killed & captured many Al Qaeda there. As for OBL, it was only rumored that we had him cornered based on some of the big baddies we killed/caught (that you're saying escaped to Pak). The fighters & brass never said we had him. We used the people we did because they knew the terrain, we had people with them, and we would've lost a lot of men (and finger-pointers like you would've complained just as loudly as you are now). I don't have time to look now or I would link it, but I read the explanation the generals gave and it sounded good enough for me. They're the experts, and they've forgotten more about warfare than the likes of you or I will ever know. You're conspiracy-theory-of-the-week sounds OK on paper, but doesn't hold up. That's the one where we let OBL go so we could invade Iraq. As opposed to the conflicting one you guys floated at the same time(until the election) that said we had him and were holding him for an 'October surprise' to win the election. Now it's back to 'we let him go'. But it doesn't hold up with just a tiny bit of thought. They would've justified going into Iraq whether they had OBL or not. Could've probably made a better case with him in custody. Vacations -- who cares? It shows your abject hatred for Bush that you think vacations are distracting from your job but getting your knob shined under a desk over and over aren't. Your powers of concentration must be amazing. Besides, the prez is never really on vacation. I know, 'cause I've watched The West Wing. 'Golf course'? My god, let's start impeachment proceedings now. 'Fifty warnings'? I read the 9/11 report, there were no warnings about planes as weapons. Just that OBL was out to get us, which we already knew. We should've gotten the hint when he declared war on us and attacked us a bunch of times. But - hey, is she wearing a thong? I'm not trying to pick on Slick Willie, but Trade Center I, embassy bombings, USS Cole, etc. -- that's what I call a warning. 'Sat in the school'. This one kills me. He looked like a deer in the lights -- so what? Kerry said he sat in shock for 45 min. FDR supposedly despaired with his head in his hands. If he had run out of the school immediately -- what, you would've praised for his decisive action? Give me a break. Tell me how he could've given the order to shoot down the other planes if he just stopped reading (a la Babs Streisand). I'll knock that one out of the park. This post is way too long so I'll finish up this way. You're the one who compared Bush unfavorably to Clinton. Bush was on the job for 8 months with NO CLEAR WARNING OF THE EVENTS TO OCCUR (despite your supposedly rock-solid accusations, most of which have little or no truth to them, or are just silly) and you want to tear him up. But the previous admin. had 8 YEARS, during which WE WERE ATTACKED NUMEROUS TIMES, and did -- what? Please, I really want you to answer that. I'm not laying the blame on Clinton, either. The problems with our intelligence gathering, etc. go back years through several administrations. Personally, I believe Clinton hurt us in those areas as well, but I'm not going to lay this at his feet. OBL and his buddies didn't start hating us when Bush was elected (and before you even go off on that tangent, he WAS elected). They didn't start planning this attack in Nov. 2000, it was years in the making. Stop blaming Bush, or at least come up with better arguments. There certainly are some.

...It shows your abject hatred for Bush that you think vacations are distracting from your job but getting your knob shined under a desk over and over aren't... ...I know, 'cause I've watched The West Wing...
and this rant demonstrates your unabashed/uncompromisable admiration for bush. that’s some funny schit, i don't care who you are. get'er done.
