Two men were driving down I-380 in Iowa when the hood of their car popped open. Undaunted, the men stuck their heads out the side windows and kept driving.

Note to drivers: if you want the police to notice you, drive down the freeway with your hood raised.

Two Linn County deputies on patrol took note, and pulled them over. They arrested the driver, Travis Williams, 25, of Cedar Rapids, on suspicion of driving under suspension, and no proof of insurance. The passenger, Brandon Calmese, 27, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested on a parole violation warrant from Illinois.

    Americo really needs to revamp ...or hell, enforce it's driving laws better. There are people who do dumb stuff like this everyday and get away with it.

    I disagree Ern, I say we need to repeal all the senseless traffic laws and come to grips with the fact that human beings were not mean to travel in 2000 lb. vehicles at 50+mph. All the traffic laws in the world won't change that, but all the tickets are a great moneymaker for local govt.

    Come to Switzerland. I guarantee that the closest thing to a "bad driver" you will see is someone passing on the right, or excessively speeding. I credit this to the enforcement of traffic laws and the (sometimes very heavy) fines. From my time in the US, I have seen many, MANY people who should not be driving, but, regardless of their records, they are still able to get behind the wheel. Makes no sense.

    Ern... I have seen many, MANY people who should not be driving, Good thing you haven't lived here all your life! About 40% of the people behind the wheel have no business being there. Then you put a cell phone in their hands and...lookout! Kdog... I say we need to repeal all the senseless traffic laws. Such as???

    Such as 55 mph speed limits, seatbelt laws, cellphone laws, 4 way stop signs, no right on red...just for starters.
