Defrocked Priest to Get New Trial

In Baltimore, a court has thrown out the conviction of a defrocked priest in a sex abuse trial:

Less than two months after he was convicted of molesting a boy who later shot him, defrocked priest Maurice Blackwell was granted a new trial by a judge who said testimony about other alleged victims was inappropriate.

In a case where "credibility is a critical issue," Circuit Judge Stuart R. Berger wrote, the witnesses "improperly attempted to enhance the credibility of the state's critical witness by injecting references to other victims."

Too bad Michael Jackson isn't being tried in Maryland. California's Rule 1108 does nothing but inject unfairness into the proceedings. More on Jackson and the prior accusers here, here and here.

    It's interesting to note that the very same people who chastise the Catholic Church for having Gays in the Priesthood, attack the Boy Scouts for not having Gays as Scout Masters. The common thread in this, is the thirst amongst the left for attacking two conservative organizations. They are using homosexuality as nothing but at maleable token of exchange, for their real and ultimate agenda.

    Boq, so are you. We all twist it around. We chastise the church not for having gays, but for raping little children. And allowing it. And then we chastise those apologists (like the dearly departed pontiff, may he burn in peace) who keep allowing it to happen. It is not a gay/straight issue. It is a rape/not rape issue. Didn't we all agree that baby-raping was, well, bad? See there? Not attacking conservative orgs, attacking baby-raping priests who somehow manage to retain their jobs and their freedom. So what is the lefts ultimate agenda?

    Jhonny, To answer your question... The left's agenda is to bring down two conservative institutions. Mao once said: (paraphrased)The best communist is that which works like a mole; quietly and unseen gnawing on the underpinnings of a conservative society. Only until the whole society comes tumbling down, is he to poke his head to the surface. Hegel/Marx called it the Dialectic process of deconstructing an institution. Step One, you knock the institution down for being "discriminatory" against gays. Step Two, the accused intitution reacts and allows gays in. Step Three, Gays prey on small children Step Four, The left decries abuse of small children in the target institution. On the Church Step One was the Vatican II reforms of the '60's. Step two Straight Men stopped considering priesthood as a career option, Thus leaving this field mainly to Gays. Step Three, Gays rape children We are on Step Four. Beyond the issue of rape - a real issue - The left is zeroing in on one of the Church's serious weaknesses: of having Gay priest preying on children. On the BoyScouts, watch my words, the moment that Gays are alowed into their ranks you will start seeing similar abuses happening there. They are only on Step One of the process.

    A litle paranoid Boq? Think the left wing is the only wing capable of destroying institutions it deems innappropriate? Blaming the left wing for creating the baby-raping in the catholic church. Get a clue, that crap has been happening long before this country was even founded. Gay has NOTHING TO DO WITH BABY RAPE, get over it, as much as your wrong wing mind would like to believe that gay=baby raper, it doesn't. Most of your baby rapers are straight white males from normal back grounds. LOL what a bigot. The problem I have with your theory is that the Pontiff himself (may he burn in peace) was calling the shots, what makes you think liberals have such control over an institution like that? LSD? As fas as the Boy Scouts go, I could really give a crap, the abuse already started when it was founded. By a gay man. Give it up Boq, gay does NOT equal baby raper. Anymore than straight white christian = upstanding healthy individual.

    Fine. Show me a case of a heterosexual male lusting after a 8-year old boys' nether regions. And by the way, yer side-swipes on the Pontiff, and Founder of the BoyScouts serves to reinforce my point: Your complete contempt for two conservative pillars of our society.
