LA Deputies Apologize

by TChris

Nine deputies of the LA Sheriff's Department issued a rare apology for their use of excessive force against an unarmed man in Compton. TalkLeft discussed the shooting spree here.

Sheriff Lee Baca said he could not recall any other law enforcement officers in Los Angeles delivering mea culpas for a controversial police action. "When have you ever had a peace officer come out … and say, 'I'm concerned. I have a sense of feeling about this. I want you to know I don't feel good about this,' " Baca said. "This has never happened in this county and this speaks well for the integrity of these deputies."

I thought it was great at first ... until I read the non-apology apology:"Each one of them, to a person … wishes that things would have been a little bit different and certainly they wish it was not necessary to fire so many shots," Emerson said. That's NOT an apology. Apologising is taking responsibility, not blaming others. Screw these guys, it's just cya.

agree with Sailor. I don't like the statement that it was necessary to fire so many shots. Reminiscent of Amadou Diallo. Maybe everybody should go back to muzzle-loaders or at least revolvers to slow down the mayhem.

The apologize is butt covering in L.A., Its normal for the cops to do this kind of thing, after all that city is in the full control of the third world, but why not ask why did this happen, what crime to that guy do? to make this happen? this fact is he did no crime, this was a gang hit by the cops who are in the L.A.P.D., And the other guy was setup by some other.

Gang hit, by the cops, "normal in the third world", that is now L.A., Or in the gang lands of a dead nation state.

Revolvers would be a good start CA. It seems the police can't be trusted to use semi-automatic weapons responsibly while firing on unarmed suspects. I know, I know...this suspect was armed with a fully gassed SUV. And I am armed with a Bic pen.
