Blogads vs. Pajamas Media

If you're not a blogger, this won't have any meaning for you. But if you are, and you're considering moving from Blogads to Pajamas Media, go read Ann Althouse....and let me know here what you think. Which one do you think is a better deal for bloggers?

As a non blogger, but able to relate to the model of self employed vs. employed, I think it is hands down for Blog Ads, that is until it stops working for you. Independence, especially with a political site, seems golden. I visit your site for the content, which it very high quality. Good Luck!

FWIW, PajamasMedia is being run by the creator of LGF. Not that there's anything wrong with doing business with a conservative, but I might choose another conservative to do business with.

I bought an ad from BlogAds on a home schooling site that gets 1000 page views per day, but it hasn't generated a single click-through in its entire two weeks of being live. I've tried different designs and different wording, all to no avail. If an ad shows to a targeted audience 13,000 times and doesn't generate a single click, let alone a single sale, it makes me wonder if blog readers ever actually click the ads. I know on my site that Google Adwords has generated about $3.00 in revenue over two years. That's about 10 clicks in 2 years with about 50,000 unique visits and 200,000 page views. Much less targeted than BlogAds, but it still seems to do better than what I'm getting with BlogAds.

Interesting. I only just joined blogads, for my humble little blog that gets about 1500 to 2000 unique visits per day. I've been seeing clicks in the double digits on the ads I've had up. (And I only click on them once, to make sure they're working, etc.) So, somebody is clicking. As for the comparison with Pajamas Media, even before knowing the connection to LGF I probably would not have chosen them just because of the agreement requirements. (And I'd prefer not to do business with conservatives if I can help it.) But then, for me Blogads is an experiment. If I generate ad revenue, that's great, but I'm not about to quit my day job any time soon, unless I start getting Kos-level traffic all of a sudden.

Ditto: Adwords is when you pay for google ads. Adsense is when you get money for displaying google ads. 200,000 page views should have brought in at the absolute least $10 assuming you had at least one ad block per page view. But, since I didn't see ads at your site I wonder whether you really had that many impressions. Some sites could reliably get that much revenue out of many fewer page views. A good many times fewer.
