Cheney Told in Gulfport to "Go F**k Yourself" on CNN and MSNBC

by Last Night in Little Rock

Remember VP Dick Cheney's profanity to Sen. Leahy? "Go f**k yourself" on the Senate floor, unexpurgated on WashingtonPost.com?

Cheney got it back during a press conference in Gulfport, MS where a citizen off camera shouted it at him as reported on crooksandliars.com and Raw Story with links to the video.

Quoting Raw Story:

Off camera, a protester shouts, "Go f--k yourself, Mr. Cheney. Go f--k yourself." The camera remains on Cheney while we hear scuffling in the background.

CNN's reporter asks Cheney, "Are you getting a lot of that Mr. Vice President?"

Cheney replies, "First time I've heard it., Must be a friend of John..., er, ah - never mind."

Poor Cheney can't even remember who he said that to in the Senate. Maybe because it is so common in his speech that he doesn't remember all the people he said it to.

The Administration essentially said it to the people of NOLA.

And so it goes.

you don't think it's long enough to reach, do you?

i feel certain vp cheney has heard that before, probably frequently, in his life.
Actually, wasn't he the one who invented the phrase? Or was it invented for him? This was, however, probably the first time he was ever in a position to hear it addressed to him, since only lackeys and buttkissers are allowed within a 50 mile radius of the Bush Gang by order of Herr Rove. Anyone found out who the guy who said it was? (before Cheney had him executed).

    wow-how admirable. that's the spirit.

Both Smirk and Scowl use the said language on a daily basis. The most publicized instance was when Scowl used it in response to Sen. Lehey. Perhaps that explains why:
As it happens, the exchange occurred on the same day the Senate passed legislation described as the "Defense of Decency Act" by 99 to 1.

When I was watching, I thought I heard someone else say, although not as loudly of course, 'Not today, Mr. King, this isn't the time. Not today.' Ya hafta admit, though, it really was very Southernly, not screamed or shouted really, just projecting and even a bit gently.

Telling him to freak himself is too nice. I'd like to tell him to bend over and let us all have a turn. He should at least see how it feels on the receiving end for once.

When Republicans use that word, it's conversation; when Democrats use it, it's uncouth and rude.

when you use it in private conversation,, it's a little vulgar but often warranted. if you walk down the street yelling it, your lack of couth is showing. but, scream it at the top of your lungs if it makes you happy. better yet, tell it to the next judge who makes a decision you disagree with.

The meme is spreading!!! This is the new Democratic slogan!! Every chance you get, use this!!! This is it, guys!!! This is the rallying cry!!! We are going to hear this on the news — over and over again! It is a pivotal moment in this story!!! On to victory!!!

BigMedia, Interestingly, when interviewed by cops later, the heckler said he only wanted to make the VP feel more at home, "as if he were among collegues".

Brave: Did anyone check the voter registration card of the person that told Dick to eff hisself? My guess is that the anger amongst those abandoned while Dick vacationed and Dubya stroked guitars is non partisan.

What is it when you say it in the Senate?

in a private conversation to a jackass, a little vulgar but perfectly fine with me. do you think the senate is a church or your mother's house?

    in a private conversation...
Uncle Dick apparently said it loud enough on the Senate floor to negate that possibility. Anyway, it's about time the jackass found out the pulse of the country...on live TV no less. PRICELESS!

"do you think the senate is a church or your mother's house?" The guys who wrote the Constitution thought it was more important than a damn church. Your attitude depresses me.

I would like to know the source for that bit of history. so, I could stand up in the senate and heap all the insults I want and then expect the target of my insults to smile and shake my hand-all because I hold the exalted rank of senator. a nice well placed private vulgarity at that point is certainly not unthinkable. if the senate is a church, does that make Byrd the pope?

The tone of voice suggests that this was clearly not a protester. This was someone who didn't go there intending to say that. This was someone who thought, at the time, that Cheney's talkingpoint-talkingpointing was an offense to the entire region, and spoke up, rather politely. Cheney is the de facto Pres. of the Senate. His behavior stinks of his own corruption. Since the trolls love corruption, they applaud his stink. And that says all there is to say about so-called Republicans. When you kiss their arses, pretend it's a hundred dollar bill. That's how BigMedia does it, twice a day.

If I just saw one of the men responsible for my house being destroyed, I'd shout it to the roof tops. BTW, the guy who said it, an emergency room physician was detained and handcuffed:
two military police waving M-16's showed up and said they were looking for someone who fit Marble's description who had cursed at Cheney.
Free speech ... gone, right to a trial ... gone, right to bear arms ... gone, right to face one's accusers ... gone, right to freedom of assembly ... gone. bush is a dictator, storm the bastille.

How is the Vice President responsible for the storm surge?

It is so disheartening that the first amendment protected heckler was put in chains for expressing outrage at an elected official. Is this still the United States? I saw a guy on CNN rowing a canoe down the street cursing Bush under his breath. Should I call 1-800-TIPS and have him put in chains too?

Sailor: "storm the bastille." Please stop saying that. We do NOT need people stupidly charging the White House defenses now, or ever. The powers that be would LOVE that. So this kind of comment looks like an AGENT PROVOCATEUR. Don't promote desperation. That's Bush's job.

Posted by pigwiggle : "How is the Vice President responsible for the storm surge?" How is he responsible for anything? The ultimate in denying responsibility. The defunding of ACE is a Dick Cheney act surely as much as it is the action of Bush. The transfer of 2 out of every 5 Louisiana National Guard, and most of their equipment, to Iraq is a DIRECT action of Dick Cheney. The storm surge is not the issue. The total failure to respond is the issue. But keep on being a jerk, pig.
