The trailer is cobbled together from bits and pieces of movies. And the producer was just arrested for allegedly bilking investors out of $5.5 million.
The FBI contends that Joseph Medawar told investors in his production company that President Bush and Tom Ridge endorsed the show. That should have been reason enough to stay away from it. Here’s another:
Medawar also appeared on a Christian talk show, "This Is Your Day," to plug his idea, which he called a Christian project, in September 2003. The audience and host Benny Hinn prayed for the producer and the project's success, according to the complaint.
The prayers were answered, at least for Medawar. The FBI says Medawar used the investment proceeds to buy “jewelry and tuition for the daughter of his longtime associate, Alison Heruth-Waterbury, at Pepperdine University.”
He also allegedly spent $176,665 to support Heruth-Waterbury's L.A. mansion payments and $6,370 on parking tickets.
That’s a lotta tickets. He also spent (according to FBI allegations) $226,779 on “personal items” at Target and Pottery Barn.
Medawar is (or was) a legitimate producer, having produced the stellar classic, "Hardbodies 2." He is, of course, presumed innocent of the mail fraud and obstruction of justice charges that have been lodged against him.
