No Ruling for DeLay for Two Weeks

After a three hour hearing and ordering briefs from counsel, the Judge in the Tom DeLay case said a ruling would take about two weeks. He told DeLay's lawyers, who want an early trial, not to expect it will before January 1.

    Ellis' attorney, Mark Stevens, argued that the state's money laundering statute applies only to cash. The campaign contributions in question were checks, he said.
    Next he'll want to argue the meaning of 'is' ;-)

    Wow, now that's a good down-home Republican defense that the common man can get behind.
