Big Day for TalkLeft

TalkLeft hit 10 million visitors today. And welcome, Denver Post readers who are finding us for the first time through David Harsanyi's column today. (And thanks to Crooks and Liars for mentioning it.)

For radio listeners, I'll be talking with Rachel Maddow on Air America today at 11:30 a.m. (MT) about Karl Rove and PlameGate. Is an Indictment looming, or has Robert Luskin pulled yet another rabbit out of his hat? You can listen live online here.

Also, TalkLeft will be getting a bloglift (y.i.c.t.p. as Skippy would say)over the weekend, it's first since Markos of Daily Kos so graciuosly designed TalkLeft in June, 2002.

It's the last day for voting in the Weblog Awards. TalkLeft is in second place for best liberal blog, so please vote so we can keep our spot - and for your other favorite blogs. The Koufax award nominations (for liberal blogs) opened today.

    If this is in the way of an open thread I would like to note something I found interesting. As the body count in New Orleans comes to a rapid close it turns out white folks died at a significantly greater rate than black folks. Surprising given the histrionics over race; eh…hem, Kanye I’m looking at you. Anyway, if this isn’t an open thread, my apologies.

    Pig, Are you saying at a higher RATE or more white people simply DIED? Big difference. And please link if you can to some stats you're using. Remember, white people outnumber black people in this nation about 9-1.

    When you do the bloglift, perhaps you can get rid of the nofollow tags, which do nothing about spam and only penalize those who help build content and community for this site. Details start here.

    I was always under the impression that New Orleans -- Louisiana, for that matter -- was actually its own third-world nation. Seriously, though, New Orleans was a little more than 10% black. Although I have no idea what Pigwiggle is talking about. I guess he's saying that 50 of the 250 white people trapped in New Orleans died versus 1500 of the 50,000 black people. I wish a godless liberal like myself understood such compassion.
