Say Hello

Say hello to the Nation's new blog, The Notion:

Starting today, The Nation launches The Notion blog, which will feature light, off-the-cuff commentary, spontaneous reaction to breaking news, and unfiltered ruminations on debates of the day. Readers should expect lively debates, insightful critiques, crucial questions, bold new visions and the occasional sophomoric Bush joke. Notion contributors will interact and respond to each other, as well as readers who post comments.

It has an all-star lineup:

Among the regular contributors:

Ari Berman, Nation contributing writer and former "Daily Outrage" blogger
Marc Cooper, Nation contributing editor, and LA Weekly contributing writer
Sam Graham-Felsen, freelance journalist and co-writer of "Sweet Victories"
Katrina vanden Heuvel, Nation editor and publisher
Richard Kim, frequent Nation contributor
John Nichols, Nation Washington correspondent
Christine Smallwood, Nation assistant literary editor and Salon contributor
Gary Younge, Nation Institute Fellow and NY correspondent for the Guardian Unlimited.

Marc Cooper is the Pajama Medias "liberal" journalist that says that 300,000 is not enough to live on in Los Angeles. Why this guy still has any credentials left is completely beyond me. And $300,000?

Marc Cooper is an excellent journalist. You ought to read some of his books and magazine articles. I read his blog regularly. Even LA Weekly, another paper I highly recommend, carries his blog.

    will feature light, off-the-cuff commentary,
That's such good news. The blogosphere has suffered from a paucity of "light, off-the-cuff" commentary. Glad to see somebody is stepping up to fill that void.

I no longer choose to take anyone seriously who character assasinates a person, to prove their point- "...truly off-kilter conspiracy theorists like David Ray Griffin who argue that 9/11 was NOT caused by the four Al Qaeda--commandeered planes. Instead, Guma asks us to take seriously the proposition that the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon were the product of a Reichstag-like plot engineered by the Bush Administration..." Nice- His post is valid, his "attack the messenger" ploy is right out of Norquist 101 My two cents- More folks to Char assasinate here- :)
