From the cow: Where's Dick? The transmitter looks too obvious, people may suspect that I am really the one running the country. Do you think anyone suspects my role in discovering Saddam's ties to 9/11 and WMD's? I know where OBL is hiding too, your secret is safe with me. Next time dispense with the goat story and use Harry the Highland cow, or A Cow on the Line. From the Chimp: We could use you. Want a job in Homeland Security? And I thought Condi was smart. Boy, it sure pays to do a bit of international travel to see how talented the Indian People are. are,,,,,Outsourcing is working better than I thought, Bolton's will need a replacement at the end of the year, I can slip you in as a recess appointment.

"I was the model for Love Story... I invented the Internet
Still passing on wrongwinger lies. Here is truth behind those stories, the first instances of a compliant press being participating in with switfboating.
The story that Gore said he 'invented' the internet was created by Dick Armey, a Republican member of Congress. Armey's imaginary wording was then picked up by the media, since what Gore actually said wasn't a good enough story.
What Gore said was "During an interview with Wolf Blitzer last in March 1999:
BLITZER: I want to get to some of the substance of domestic and international issues in a minute, but let's just wrap up a little bit of the politics right now. Why should Democrats, looking at the Democratic nomination process, support you instead of Bill Bradley, a friend of yours, a former colleague in the Senate? What do you have to bring to this that he doesn't necessarily bring to this process? GORE: Well, I will be offering - I'll be offering my vision when my campaign begins. And it will be comprehensive and sweeping. And I hope that it will be compelling enough to draw people toward it. I feel that it will be. But it will emerge from my dialogue with the American people. I've traveled to every part of this country during the last six years. During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.
    Re the Love Story statement:
When the author, Erich Segal, was asked about Gore's impression, he stated that the preppy hockey-playing male lead, Oliver Barrett IV, indeed was modeled after Gore and Gore's Harvard roommate, actor Tommy Lee Jones. [NYT, Dec. 14, 1997]
And Sailor's Law invoked on the same post, amazing.

Sailor - Thanks. Some folks might have thought I was funning'em about Gore and Love Story if you hadn't chimed in. As for Gore's interview, yes he did. He explained his positions to the American people, and with all that experience, while being the VP of a popular President, with the economy still good though imploding, he lost. I think we should call him, "The Man Who Stayed Too Long." And yes, everyone knows Gore didn't "invent" the Internet. The problem is, as you noted, he claimed to have "created" the Internet. Actually he did neither. I do remember he wanted a new telecommunications tax, something about schools... I think that was what resonated with the American public. It looked like he was parsing words while adding taxes, which was one of the negatives that Clinton had. Oh well, after his recent SA speech Gore is as done as last weeks BBQ. Jondee - I can't figure out what your point is; besides "I don't like Jim." Hey, works for me. Didn't someone say something like: A man is known by the enemies he makes? And I'm glad to know that you believe the 911 Commission, including the part where Fitzgerald explained how OBL and Saddam had made common ground. Thanks for the help.

Why did Gore shoot somebody in the face and try to cover it up? Feel free to produce the "I created the internet" quote any time, Jim. Somehow, I don't think it's gonna be as easy to locate as the "it's been pretty well established that Saddam has links to Al Qaida", or "we know where the weapons of mass destruction are" or, yada, yada, yada, fill in the lie that gets other people killed and runs up massive debt for future generations to pay while trashing the environment and making the world a more unstable and dangerous place to live in. Then there's the idiot king's masterpiece, "our enemies never stop thinking of ways to hurt our Country and either do we." And who can forget such other chart toppers as "Thanks to Medical Malpractice Attorneys, Womens Doctors can't practice their LOVE for women." Vell, Herr PPJ. You fancy yourself the expert on WWII Military History. You, Herr Gruppenfuhrer, are in the Volkssturm. You know what the Volkssturm is, don't ya Jim? It's Berlin. It's March 1945 and you know who is bangin' at the gates as you and your panzerfaust sit shakin' in another bombed out basement on another no longer identifiable stasser. Given your past behavior at their place, they probably won't knock and they definitely won't wait for you to answer the door. It's not the Summer of '42 anymore. Springtime for bush and redstate amerika is gone with the wind.
