Duke: Kroger Security Guard Says "Ain't No Way" There Was a Rape

ABC has a tape recording of the Kroger security guard who made the second 911 call in the Duke case. It is a private investigator's interview made three weeks after the incident. Likely, this is a defense investigator. In it the guard says there is no way the woman had been raped.

The guard was on duty at the store on the night of March 13, when the two women pulled into the store's parking lot in a dark sedan. The alleged victim, who says three men held her down in a bathroom and kicked, strangled and raped her, was in the passenger seat.

On the tape, which was recorded April 3, three weeks after the lacrosse party, the guard can be heard saying, "There ain't no way she was raped -- ain't no way, no way that happened."

More inconsistencies by the second dancer:

On the tape, the guard recounts the conversation she had with the the dancer who came into the store: The woman told the guard she was driving down the street and heard people yelling racial slurs at a woman she had never met before, then, out of sympathy, she picked up the woman and brought her to the Kroger parking lot.

More:

The security guard says on the recording that she wondered why the driver didn't take the alleged victim to the hospital or to the police station, both of which are closer to the scene of the party than the Kroger store. She mentions calling 911 and recalls that three officers arrived to the scene.

How's this for a thorough police investigation?

At the end of the recording, the guard says that police had not returned to talk with her since the night of the incident.

    I guess this guard knows more about what's consistent with rape than the medical personnel who examined the dancer at the hospital then?

    The only thing that comes out of this, is that we know now that the driver was also inebriated, and probably did not want to deal witht he police at that time. But the security guard is also a woman, so she would of been more understanding towards the accuser if she felt something would of happened. While her testimony is nothing to what she thinks or not, it at least shows that something else was going on that night, then what went on at the party. Is it possible that this woman is taking drugs, or some kind of pills herself? The pressure is going to be on her alot now.

    It could be that both women were given "pills" by someone at the party. That could possibly explain the seizure of "pills" Bob

    Didn't the second stripper already say that she wanted to keep her stripping career a secret? So wouldn't that make sense that she would try to pretend she didn't know the stripper? As to the security guard being sympathetic to fellow women, maybe yes, maybe no. Back in my wilder days, I don't remember feeling a lot of love when from other women when I went out all tarted up. The strippers would still be in their stripper clothes, that could be enough for some more old-fashioned types (and remember, this is the south, lots of old fashioned types) to think "there is no way they were raped".

    It is, fortunately for all parties, totally unimportant whether Angel thinks there was a rape or not.

    Sorry no pills. So far no toxicology reports on the strippers. So no proof of anything more than alcohol. If the drunk stripper wasn't raped it would be a real shame. A thing like a false accusation could ruin her life. Of the three guys she claimed raped her only two have been indicted. Who is the DA protecting?

    Here's an interesting quote acout the second dancer:
    "In supporting the 27-year-old accuser, the second woman told MSNBC that the defense attorneys' belief that she doubted the story were "out-and-out lies."
    Comment: She must know something the parents of the lacrosse players don't.
