UPI: Fitzgerald Close to Deciding on Rove Indictment

by TChris

We've been hearing these reports for some time now, but UPI reports today that "Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald reportedly is close to deciding whether to indict White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove for lying about a CIA leak."

An indictment of Rove could happen this month.

TalkLeft's most recent analysis of the charges that might be filed is here.

No offense, but if I had a dollar for every time Fitz was "about to decide" something about Rove, I'd be retired living on the beach. Wake me in August when something actually happens...

    Close. Closer. See "asymptotic".

It might be better if the indictment happened at the end of September, when everyone's back from summer vacation and the election season is in full swing. If Rove is indicted a month from now, lots of people will already be in summer mode--not paying attention to the news.

Heatthrob Fitz is close to deciding, Rover's neck is on this riding. Fitz take care, Of Gov. beware. Accidents happen when hang gliding.

What' a heattrob? a misspelt verion of Heartthrob.

Desertswine, Now it's inch by inch. Not too much instant gratification in cases like this.

I got a kick out of Wonkette's suugestion that Rove's defence should built around the idea that he was just "sleep-outing" Plame in an Ambien fog when he talked to Cooper. Perfectly reasonable for him to use Ambien. He's such a hard working, caring, all around good guy, and with all those long hours it couldn't be his conscience keeping him awake, could it? On second thought , scratch that... dumb question.

Stolentime, commenting at RawStory on Olbermann's story, may well have the best assessment of this that I've seen in awhile:

This entire administration is going to come completely unglued before this is all over and once the blood is in the water you are going to see a feeding frenzy like we've never seen before in America. There is a lot of pent up whoop ass in this country right now and once Alpa Dog starts to stagger it's gonna get ugly fast. As people start coming forward and spilling the beans on the corruption and treasonous activites of this administration... these guys may well hang.
