Crooks and Liars has the video from last night's Saturday Night Live Funhouse With Bush. It's great, go give it a watch.

Every time Bush, Cheney or Rummy say something that has ultimately turned out wrong, someone, animal or thing spits water or soup on them. Karl Rove scurries into the frame each time and makes them do another take. All the audio is of course the real thing. Another excellent job by Robert Smigel and Matt O'Brien.

    brilliant! a spot-on use of the classic slapstick comedy device, the Spit-Take. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spit-take the best slapstick always has at it's center a figure of some power or authority-or someone who regards himself of such import-who cannot accomplish his goal without becoming increasingly baffled and humiliated constantly by a series of embarrassing mishaps. The railroad dick chasing the Little Tramp; Moe takes an iron bar to the head; Wile. E. Coyote explodes in a shower of fireworks from his ACME rocket.... slap-stick is appropos of this administration. any comedy bit that regards these fools with any more respect than they deserve (ie. the Bush imitator who came out before the glorious Stephen Colbert skewering) is just not funny. Smigel's piece is most gratifying satire, and holds Bush/Cheney/Rummy up to the ridicule they deserve: hapless, farcical, keystone-kopsian. perhaps Smigel will next loose Triumph the Insult Comic Dog on one of Tony Snow's performances? alas, like any of these clowns pratfalls, they would be funny if they were'nt so tragic.
