Politics First: Right and Wrong? Don't Care Says GOP

(Guest Post from Big Tent Democrat)

The Republican blogs say it baldly:

[N]ow is not the time for a leadership contest. Anyone who suggests otherwise is a fool or a foe. . . . Once the House is securely in the hands of a GOP majority on November 8th, we can reassess our leadership team.

Okaay. Isn't that what dictated Hastert coddling the sexual predator Foley? More:

If we decapitate our leadership right now going into the November elections, we lose the whole shooting match. Our base will completely deflate. There is a time and place to talk about vision and leadership [at the top], but now is not the time."

Shameless.

I am hoping for a total deflation of the base. I want the gop base so demoralized they will not feel like going to vote or cheat. or both

This is their pattern for the last 5 years....lie, cover up and don't investigate anything, so they can stay in power. THIS should be our talking point. This is how the REP leadership reacts to everything, the loss of billions of dollars in Iraq, can't investigate THAT. They had to be shamed by the 9/11 families into a sham investigation. And there is so much more and I have to finish dinner. Talking Point: This is how they handle everything.

To Republicans Ethics and morals take a back seat to elections.

Be nice to know who Rich Lowry's source for that quote is, and whether he has any conception of how he's deflating his and the gop's balloon just by saying something that dumb. Maybe he does, and remains anonymous because he does. Sometimes lately I get the feeling that there are people in the gop who are so fed up they are purposely trying to help speed up the end for the party. Like an addict who finally decides the only way out of his problems includes ratting on and walking away from everyone he knows, and from the whole life he's in. And people are supposed to consider these guys leaders, or think they are worth following? To where would they lead? Off the cliff they been running straight towards as fast as they can? Unbelievable.

Anyone see this? FBI examining possible threat to La. teenager I found the link in a post by Is That Legal?.

You must be forgetting that Mark Foley, along with his friends bin Laden, Saddam and Zarqawi, is really a Democrat.

I cannot understand how so many politicians think going against the UN is a way to get votes...

"Now is not the time for a leadership contest. Anyone who suggests otherwise is a fool or a foe. . . . Once the House is securely in the hands of a ... majority on November 8th, we can reassess our leadership team." Hmmm ... wasn't this exactly the position most "liberal" blogs took on that whole legalizing torture thing?

    JTL: Not this liberal blog.

I see your true colors shining through. I see your true colors, and that's why I despise you.
