Purple Fingers

Democracy in Iraq:

For Mr. Maliki, these concerns have taken on a keen personal edge, exposed Monday when the White House revealed that Mr. Maliki asked President Bush in a telephone call whether there was any truth to rumors that the Americans had plans to replace him "if certain things don't happen within two months," in the words of Mr. Bush's press secretary, Tony Snow.

Chalabi time? What a farce. It would be funny if it was not tragic. Purple fingers anyone?

What does it mean that Maliki, a duly elected Iraqi official, is worried that the Bush could replace him?  Just how would that happen?  It would have to be unpossible, right?  Right?

Hate to remind you of ugly facts, but this is a perfectly understandable question when you consider all of the comments by the Left. It really is a perfect example of how the negative commets, attacks, etc,., hurt the efforts and undermine the attempts of the US to win.

    Sad. Very sad.

the attempts of the US to win.

Win? Win? Excuse me. Win exactly what?

    Freedom and democracy for Iraq?

There is no civil war in Iraq. It's all a figment of the lefts imagination.  They'll be throwing flowers and their girls will be snuggling up to US troops before you know it. Any day now freedom and democracy will bloom across Iraq, and the country will become a gleaming example of the rightness, and righteousness, of George W. Bush's wonderful inspired vision and determination to stay the course, and  show the world, the fruits of all of his efforts and attempts of the US to win:

    Wed Oct 18, 2006

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Dozens of al Qaeda-linked gunmen took to the streets of Ramadi on Wednesday in a show of force to announce the city was joining an Islamic state comprising Iraq's mostly Sunni Arab provinces, Islamists and witnesses said.
    ...
"We have announced the Islamic state. Ramadi is part of it. Our state will comprise all the Sunni provinces of Iraq," he told Reuters in a telephone interview.
    ...
Abu Harith said the state would be headed by Amir Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, a little-known militant. It would include Sunni areas of Baghdad, and the provinces of Anbar, Diyala, Kirkuk, Salaheddin, Nineveh and parts of Babil and Wasit. Iraq has 18 provinces.

Sad. Very sad. There is no civil war in Iraq. It's all a figment of the lefts imagination.  The civil war ended yesterday.

THIRD DEADLIEST MONTH. U.S. SOLDIERS IN IRAQ SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES

At the current rate of American troop deaths, almost four a day, October is on track to be the third-deadliest month of the entire conflict for the military, according to Iraq Coalition Casualty Count, an independent Web site that tracks war-related casualties.

But George says don't worry, everything is on track, and we're staying the course:

US military deaths in Iraq are the price of fighting for victory in the battle against terrorism, the White House said Wednesday, as the US military reported 10 soldiers killed in a single day.

Thousands of bodies in the ground
Brought home in boxes to a trumpet's sound
No one sees them coming home that way
    Thousands buried in the ground

Thousands of children scarred for life
Millions of tears for a soldier's wife
    Both sides are losing now
    Heaven takes them in
Thousands of children scarred for life

We had a chance to change our mind
But somehow wisdom was hard to find
We went with what we knew and now we can't go back
But we had a chance to change our mind.
