Talent [Missouri]: In the House, Jim Talent cosponsored a bill to privatize Social Security, and he has continued to campaign on the issue since then, with his campaign saying just last month that the option of privatization “should be on the table.”

Kean Jr. [NJ]: In the New Jersey Legislature just last year, Tom Kean Jr. voted to privatize Social Security - twice.

Corker [Tenn]: Just this year, Bob Corker said, “I like the idea of private accounts” and, since then, he has been criticized for refusing to take a firm position on privatization.

Allen [VA]: George Allen praised Bush for his Social Security plan, campaigned on privatization in 2000 and was honored by a group that advocates privatization.

Santorum [PA]: When it comes to privatization, Rick Santorum has been described as “Bush’s biggest backer” and “an avid salesperson” for the plan, even trying to revive the plan after it failed in 2005.

DeWine [OH]: Mike DeWine voted to raid the Social Security trust fund to support Bush’s privatization plan and DeWine repeatedly said he favored private accounts during his 2000 campaign.

Burns [MT]: Conrad Burns has voted to privatize Social Security and pushed for private accounts in his last Senate campaign.

Kyl [AZ]: Not only has Jon Kyl repeatedly voted to privatize Social Security, but President Bush personally praised Kyl for his “leadership” in working on a bill to privatize Social Security.

Kennedy [MN]: Mark Kennedy has voted to privatize Social Security and during his 2004 campaign he even defended the President’s plan for private accounts.

McGavick [WA]: This summer, Mike McGavick said he supports dramatic changes to Social Security, including private accounts.
