He says he got the idea from a short guest-blogging stint on RedState and all the positive feedback there. In plain black and white, his purpose:
I have created this blog in order to provide Americans with a new meeting place where such opinions and viewpoints might be better shared, discussed, and debated; a place where conservative Americans might really speak truth to power and to one another.
About an hour and a quarter and 110 comments later, he disabled comments and withdrew a couple posts, too. Too bad, though. Some of the comments were among the most direct speak-truth-to-power bons mots I've read. In the main, they were most definitely NSFW (and would set off the whooping sireens and red bubble lights on TL's profanity filters). I reproduce a couple of the best, cleaned up in one instance, below:
Aesthetically speaking, this is the most visually bland yet offensive piece of crap to ever find it's way onto a server.

I can't help but think of DeLay standing over this web server screaming, "How do you turn this f***ing thing off!"
Let's hear it for the First Amendment, eh Tommy-boy?
The latter, of course, foreshadowed Tommy's actions later.
For those interested, someone caught a screen-grab of the posts and 110 comments and has posted them on a new blog, here. The subtitle to "TomDelayDotCom" is:
A tribute to the 75-minute period where Tom DeLay actually received feedback from America. The experiment has now ended, but, this blog has taken a snap-shot, just for you...
Thank you, whomever you are....
