Hillary Clinton Forms Exploratory Committee

Say hello to HillaryClinton.com.

Hillary has announced the formation of her presidential exploratory committee. She will begin with "a live conversation with America – an unprecedented series of video webcasts beginning Monday, January 22nd at 7pm EST for three nights."

I chronicled Hillary's 2000 run for Senator daily, back when TalkLeft was just a website, not a blog. I'm looking forward to following her presidential bid with the same enthusiasm -- although I like John Edwards as a candidate too.

It is exciting to have a serious female candidate for President. I'll be anxiously awaiting her position on issues to see if she's the candidate for me.

Update: New WaPo poll: "Clinton took 41 percent in a hypothetical primary field against 12 other Democrats, far ahead of Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) at 17 percent, former Sen. John Edwards (N.C) at 11 percent and former Vice President Al Gore at 10 percent. The party's 2004 nominee -- Sen. John Kerry (Mass.) -- received 8 percent support. No other candidate crested three percent. "

But the more I see of Hillary, the more I like her. And I smile to think of how utterly cowed the wingnuts will be when "Our Commander-in-Chief" is cavorting with Angela Merkel in a spa. I think it would do this country some good to have 4 years completely free of macho bullsh*t from the president. And if the 9/11 crowd thinks that an endless horde of suicide bombers will follow in its absence, then they're free to go on wetting the bed.

Even more fun is thinking of Bill wanting to dive in and join them.

actually scar, it'll be fun watching the whole right-wingnut group wet their collective pants, at the prospect of another president clinton.

why, o'reilly and limbaugh may just twirl into the stratosphere, along with their 10 or so fans. now that would be entertainment!

Is a "candid" shot of Bill playfully sitting, once again, behind the desk in the Oval Office... with a bottle of Viagra in one hand and a towel in the other...

a smart ex-president. someone with an actual brain, able to construct a complete sentence, deliver a cogent thought.

    oh, for the day!

    Her accomplishments (none / 0) (#8)

    Creating Jobs and Promoting Growth

This is on her webpage, but the page jump is broken. I wonder how many jobs she really created.  Can someone give us a number, please?

    Strengthening Homeland Security

    How so?  Ports any safer?

    Keeping America Safe and Strong

Isn't that the same thing as above?  As if any President is going to drastically cut defense spending.

    Providing Quality Affordable Health Care

HOW???  Did she pass a bill i am not aware of?

Blah blah blah.  It has a page dedicated to her accomplishments and not one accomplishment has anything meaningful attached to it.  A bunch of superfluous rhetoric is what the website it.  What you see is what you get though, huh?

Will we be subjected to 2 years of attacks against her by the RW, with the media lapdogs giving us the play by play? 2 years of her "defending" herself? That's usually how it works.

Will she listen to Dean, Kucinich, and the Black Caucus? She might win by bringing in moderate repukes to the moderate Dem party wing, by staying the moderate course (family values!). But she will not embrace the anti war, progressive left. How many of us will give in?

    Rock the boat!
    (Don't rock the boat, baby)

    Good question, Che... (none / 0) (#10)

If she wins the nomination the anti war progressive left will have three choices in 11/08. Vote for her, vote for the rethug robot, or stay home (which will help the rethug robot).

It's not going to taste good. But at least she would be movement, however small, away from the past six years, no?

Maybe she will bring in Dick Morris to guide her on what to do with Iraq.

I think I shall go vomit now.
