More video of Saddam Hussein's hanging are making the rounds.

Here's the latest, showing him dead with his neck ripped open and exposed.

Mypetjawa has the full video, as obtained from a Shia website and put on Google.

    crowing about it and commenting (with abundant name calling) that we on the left are crying over this. Anyone need a kleenex?

    Sorry, but the forensic pathologist in me notices that the red tissue is probably the angle of his jaw, though it could be his tongue. That was the side that the base of the knot was on and it sheared upward. It's irrelevant since apparently the rope transected the spinal cord at C-1 (the first cervical vertebra). In trauma we even call it a "hangman's fracture", postmortem of course.

    Sorry if I offended anyone. I've just seen so much worse in the course of my career. Not that this was any less barbaric. But at least now the fighting will stop...

    I don't know, it seems like Bush could have avoided a lot of anger and turmoil by commuting Saddam's sentence and sending him to a compound, say in the Falkland Islands or somewhere, to live out the few remaining years of his life in solitude and out of everybody's way.

    It could've made us look good, instead of like a bunch of bloodthirsty ghouls.
