Rudy Giuliani was asked today about Judith Regan's lawsuit against News Corp (details here) which alleges that Fox executives told her to lie to investigators and withhold documents about Bernie Kerik in order to protect Rudy's presidential aspirations. His response:

The candidate laughed when reporters asked for his response to one-time publishing powerhouse Judith Regan's $100 million lawsuit claiming that her former employers directed her to lie to federal investigators about Kerik because of the implications for Giuliani.

"I don't respond to the story at all. I don't know anything about it. And, it sounds to me like a kind of gossip column story more than a real story,"

That's Rudy, burying his head in the sand with an "I don't know anything about it." Will the press leave it at that?

    This reminds me of the moment when Giuliani tried to stop the NYC elections:

    I even saw Musharraf on satellite television asking if "democracy is more important than the country." Of course, as with all dictators, Musharraf is suggesting that he himself is the country. It should be pointed out that the thousands of lawyers, judges, and political party workers had been law abiding citizens and posed no threat to "the country" when Musharraf began arbitrarily arresting them.

    he has no reason to get excited about it. from what i've been reading, the suit thus far is all allegation, and scant facts to support them.

    absent some explosive evidence jumping out to bite him in the ass, this story isn't really going to gain much traction. geez, if what we already know about the rudy/bernard show isn't sufficient to send his candidacy diving into the depths, it seems it would take exposure as a mass murderer to do it with republicans for rudy.

    Jeralyn, you're insinuating that he was lying when he said "I don't know anything about it."  What's the basis for that insinuation?

    It seems a litle known fact that Larry Ray was working for FBI from 1996 into 2000 and alerted then about the alleged coruupt activities of Kerik, such as the renovation secret payoffs and other contract issues with NYC. In 2003 Ray again alerted FBI of Kerik issues. In 2004 Ray went pubblic via NY Daily News -  since has helped The NYC Department of Invvestigation and the NJ AG - Division of Gaming Enforcement go after Kerik and Interstate that resulted in the 2006 plea by Kerik regarding taking $165,000 in renovations while in public office as quid pro quo for helping Interstate with business in NYC  and Bronx case of perjury by certain Interstate principals. Ray was and has been the key party assisting authorities go after this for some eight years, in spite of being cast as "mob up" which he is not and at extreme expense to his family - he was helping the US do something about Kerik, and his crew, worked for Interstate in the 1990s to help FBI -so sayeth Larry Ray - who really knows about Kerik, Regan and much rudeness = Ray, now we see it! Question is why Larry Ray is not the hero of this story -no good deed goes on punished or what even though Kerik now stands indicted by feds and Judith Regan telling her grim story about him and ..., etc.  ?????
