Oprah to Stump for Obama in Iowa

Well, you knew this was coming.

Obama made the disclosure while working a crowd at Central High School here, after delivering an education policy speech. A man, Ralph Hoagland, asked Obama—who was mingling and shaking hands-- if Oprah was going to stump for Obama in New Hampshire.

“First she’s coming to Iowa,” Obama told Hoagland, who in 1963 was a co-founder of what is now the giant CVS pharmacy chain. “But we’ll talk about it. We’ll get her up here.”

Was it a planted question? Hoagland is "a member of Obama’s Northeast Steering Group, which is heavily involved in fund-raising. He hopes to bundle together $100,000 for Obama..."

Here's Hoagland's reasoning, or is it Obama's?

Oprah Winfrey can help, Hoagland said, “because I think that Oprah can say to women ‘you do not have to vote for the first woman president. Vote for what you need.”

So, is Obama now resorting to the gender card?

    1.  Why would they have the announcement made like that?

    2.  Hoagland made that comment, not Obama.  In fact, that's something very much that the Obama campaign would NOT want attributed to them.

Why would they need to announce? If Oprah hits the trail for him it will be all over the news.  I would be jealous if i were the Hill, but hey, Hill has Hasselbeck.

This will be a big plus for Obama, adding to his increasing support among women. I'm sure that Oprah will do well in her role supporting and campaigning for Obama.

She'll do even better if she gives a car to each prospective caucus voter in Iowa.

Do you really think that women would be torn between voting for another woman and voting for the guy that the Queen of Daytime T.V. supports?  Is this the type of voter the Democrats are fighting over?  Oh, please help us.

voters arent that single minded, that is why oprah works.  She appeals to some women, just like the fact that hillary is a woman appeals to some women.  Most women arent going to base their vote on the sex of the candidate.
