Spotlight on Felony Murder

The New York Times shines its light on the felony murder doctrine today.

I wish they had included the case of Lisl Auman, which I think best shows the absurdity of the rule.

Many states still carry this archane law on their books. It's way past time for it to be abolished.

thanks for posting this. I had not been aware of the felony murder doctrine. It does indeed seem to be unjust.

    It should teach a lesson (none / 0) (#2)

If someone asks to borrow your car to committ
a felony, don't lend it.  The article implies
that the guy knew the car was going to be used
    to go burgle a home.
    The rule is not absurd.
