War in Iraq is Four Years Old Today

Four years ago, on March 19, 2003, the United States launched it war against Iraq. In his announcement speech, Bush said,

We are going to apply decisive force. "We are going to carry on our work of peace."

On March 21, mass protests occurred in the U.S. In San Francisco, 1,350 people were arrested.

We're still there, fighting a civil war. More than 3,000 of our troops have died.

Something is very wrong with this picture, and I say it's President Bush.

after 4 years, we the people would be asked to sacrifice something....anything.  The bill is up to half a trill, but the orders are still to "go shopping".

It's not about security, its not about stability, its not about philanthropy....its about money, money, money.

I don't know how anyone following the horrific news out of Iraq can say the Iraqis are better off since the occupation.  Sunday's evening news showed gravely ill Iraqi children forced to go without any medical care--doctors have fled the country; hospitals left standing have no water, electricity, medicine; transportation is too risky.  In spite of that and the other horrors we've inflicted on Iraq and Iraqis, the "loyal" opposition in our government dithers while the Republics' actively enable Bush and his thugs to go their murderous ways.
