Obama's Early Life

The Chicago Tribune has a five page article on Barack Obama's life growing up. Using his book as a guide, the reporters interviewed his schoolmates, friends, teachers and others, both in Hawaii and Indonesia.

I think it's worth the read, particularly for people like me who aren't as familiar with him as the other candidates.

Strictly factual imho, it points out telling contrasts between Obama's official story and what appears to have been the real story of his early years.

The high school stuff is particularly telling. Things were basically 'nicer' than he describes in his autobiography. He didn't hang with black classmates to anywhere near the extent he says he did, he apparently didn't discuss racism or have a friend who was consumed by rage over it.

    Anyway, hey, it's just a politician's autobiography.
