Tim Griffin Resigns as U.S. Attorney for Arkansas

Think Progress reports that Karl Rove's buddy Tim Griffin, at the heart of the U.S. Attorney firing scandal, has resigned as acting U.S. Attorney for Arkansas.

There's great speculation he will join Fred Thompson's presidential campaign.

This isn't a big surprise. He announced in February he wouldn't accept the permanent U.S. Attorney position. One of the reasons was Sen. Mark Pryor's opposition to him.

Raw Story has Sen. Mark Pryor's statement on Griffin's resignation.

don't forget, according the estimable mr. thompson, mars is warming! i expect they'll be doing some campaign shots at the new "creationist museum" too.

Sounds like he intends to run a clean campaign (none / 0) (#2)

Rick Perstein also points to a Weakly Standard article indicating one of Thompson's close advisors includes Ken Rietz, a former Watergate spy.

If you are going to begin a campaign, I guess it is important to get people with experience....

Thompson is putting his Watergate RSC knowledge to good use...

    Just another typical Republican...

Yes. Thompson must have been reading from that radical National Geographic.

"The long-term increase in solar irradiance is heating both Earth and Mars," he said.

read the thread jimbo, nothing there about and nothing in previous comments about climate change. Instead of constantly trolling why don't you stick with the topic of the thread, you know, like the rules say:
TalkLeft will limit commenters to four comments a day if, in its sole discretion, the commenter is a "chatterer," loosely defined as one who both holds opposing views from those expressed by TalkLeft and :
Posts numerous times a day with the intent of dominating, re-directing or hijacking the thread; or

Posts numerous times a day and insults or calls other commenters names or repeatedly makes the same point with the effect of annoying other commenters.

it is past time for you to learn how to read the thread before you complain.

I quote from cpinva at 09:23 in this thread.

don't forget, according the estimable mr. thompson, mars is warming! i expect they'll be doing some campaign shots at the new "creationist museum" too

Now, I understand that you aren't up to date on climate change. After all, the warming of Mars probably hasn't been spoken of by Algore, or in KOS... but it is a fact, and does prove that the Sun can....gasp!!!!!!... warm planets. That would include earth.

So when cpinva brings a snarky and implicit attack on Thompson's comment, I have everyright to challenge cpinva by providing a response. Especially one that is a quote from a nationally recognized magazine.

Sailie, ole Jimbo here says that there is more to debating than yelling lie lie lie lie evil evil bad bad bad.....

You know, I wonder about your peresonal life. Do you use such an aggressive overstated attack style all the time..

Server: "Nice day, what can I get you...

Sailor: "Liar!!!!!! It rained this morning!!! You are an evil person!!!!!"

Will you apologize, or like Edger, just add another insult?

THE THREAD IS ABOUT GRIFFIN RESIGNING.

And adults don't make excuses such as 'he did it first.'

Grow up and try for once to stay on topic.

    Evidently you can't read.

The thread was about him resigning and possibly joining Thomason's campaign:

    From the post.

There's great speculation he will join Fred Thompson's presidential campaign.

cpinva immediately, the very first comment, and Molly B, zoomed right in with an attack on Thompson.

Your problem is you want someone you agree with to be able to say what they want, but no one can point out the fact their complaint is inaccurate.

    That's deceptive.

Your vision of debate is simple. Pick a subject and yell "Bush bad...America bad...Repubs bad," etc., etc. and etc.

    1. It is obviously important for Griffin to get on Thompson's campaign because in order for Thompson to win, a lot of Negroes are going to have to be caged.

    2. I think it monstrously bad journalism for the NY Times to print Thompson's actual words.  What a gratuitous gotcha.

    CLIMATE CHANGE

"Some people think that our planet is suffering from a fever. ... NASA says the Martian South Pole's `ice cap' has been shrinking for three summers in a row. Maybe Mars got its fever from earth. If so, I guess Jupiter's caught the same cold, because it's warming up too, like Pluto. This has led some people, not necessarily scientists, to wonder if Mars and Jupiter, nonsignatories to the Kyoto Treaty, are actually inhabited by alien SUV-driving industrialists who run their airconditioning at 60 degrees and refuse to recycle.
