Inspiring Confidence

Via digby, President Bush inspiring confidence:

[T]here is not much real give in the administration's policies. . . . [B]y all reports, President Bush is more convinced than ever of his righteousness. Friends of his from Texas were shocked recently to find him nearly wild-eyed, thumping himself on the chest three times while he repeated "I am the president!" He also made it clear he was setting Iraq up so his successor could not get out of "our country's destiny."

Oh gawd.

Chimpanzees will thump their chests in a show of aggressive behavior. They will also run around breaking branches off trees, and throwing feces if sufficiently angry, so we can be thankful that Bush was actually quite restrained.

    Interesting.

Does anyone have any actual proof that this happened?

Or is it just another in poor taste rant??

From the Dallas Newspaper. Drop Georgie a line and I am sure s/he will provide you with the proof.
Georgie Anne Geyer is a syndicated columnist. Readers may contact her through ltarry@amuniversal.com.

For the rest of us it seems natural for the Chimp in Chief to act like a monkey. He does it all the time.

Sorry all you monkeys out there that may be reading this, no insult intended.

So the chest thumping story is no better than second hand, and you're ready to believe it at face value?

Hmm.  There are tons of second hand stories about the various Democratic candidates - do you believe all of those, too?

It's not like they're saying he stripped naked and ran across the lawn shouting "I shoulda got Osama!  I shoulda got Osama!"  This sounds perfectly in character for him.  Geyer is a conservative columnist, by the way.

thinks our destiny is.  Iraq the 51st state, Iran the 52nd, Syria the 53rd...

Or maybe its just to make the USA the least peaceful nation on earth.  In todays NY Daily News, there's a quick blurb about a study done recently that ranks the worlds most peaceful nations.  Out of 121 nations, Norway is #1, Iraq is #121, we are at # 96 between Yemen and Iran.

He doesn't "believe" in evolution so I guess he just never took that first step. Why should this be surprising. It's no different that what we read here every day from his supporters. (grunt)

Until he starts referring to Iraq as "The Precious" or sets Laura on fire, I'm unimpressed.

Otherwise some chest thumping here, insane wild-eyed babbling there, a banana or two up his nose, self-mutilation falling off small wheeled objects, auto asphyxiation with a pretzel ... I'm sorry, we've seen a fairly long stream of certifiably bonkers behavior from Coo Coo Bananas already.

not pass of second hand rumors of rants as evidence.

This is the kind of idiotic ranting that made conservatives look silly when they accused Clinton of killing foster.

Here's my proof of that squeky.

Since you think Bush lied you can lie about him acting like an ape.

    Ends justify the means?

    Do you?

Maybe Georgie Anne Geyer, and Chris Nelson btw, do know.

I wouldn't put it past him though.

If you figure not putting it past him is lying and you figure it's on the same level as lies that causes the deaths of nearly a million people, I think we probably don't have the basis for much of a discussion.

It would be in character for him, IMO.
