Hillary Releases First Campaign Ad in Iowa

Hillary Clinton's first campaign ad has been released in Iowa. She says that everyone who has been invisible to George W. Bush won't be invisible to the next president.

The Sopranos' video it isn't, but I think it's what plays in Iowa.

I don't think Hillary needs to keep pointing out Bush's failures ... he's not running against her. I'd like her to compare the current Republican candidates with Bush and explain how she will be different than them.

    Letting Bush's failures go would be a colossal political mistake.  People already know they dislike Bush.  They know he's screwed up.  They know much less about Romney, Rudy, etc., and their feelings toward them are, I think, less ossified.  Not to mention the fact that Bush's failures continue to impact the nation.

    know who the specific Republican candidate is yet, but whoever it is, he will run on finishing Bush's agenda (tax cuts, 9/11, tax cuts, Iraq, tax cuts, terrorists, tax cuts, etc)

    So I think Hillary is correct in reminding everyone of Bush failures.

    It did strike me as strange when she (none / 0) (#3)

    lashed out at Bush during the YouTube CNN debate though. Too early, maybe.

    The candidates have not categorically stated that they would follow a policy different than Bush, and I doubt that any of them would because they would be alienating the  32+% of the republicans who remain rabidly loyal to Bush. Giuliani has already intimated that he would be "tough" on terrorism; all of them still talk about "winning" in Iraq;

    The ad is low-key; it simply articulates the disappointment felt by the general electorate.  I am sure that with the Clinton Team as nimble as they have been, adjustments to the message will be made if necessary.

    It is a nice ad BUT (none / 0) (#5)

    it really says nothing about policies.  She will see people and their problems, how nice.

    It is the platitudes that make me nervous about her.

    It is a nice professional ad that looks good.  However I hope Iowans can see through to the lack of specifics.

    I think the ad says (none / 0) (#7)
