Gutted Lieberman-Kyl Iran Amendment Passes

Wasting time, good will and attempting to wreak havoc, the original Lieberman-Kyl Amendment on Iran was tantamount to granting President Bush the power to wage war against Iran. Still wasting time and attempting to wreak havoc, the Lieberman-Kyl Amendment was gutted of its war authorizing provisions, but remained provocative, unnecessary and stupid. It should have been voted down. It was not. It passed. Among the Ays was Senator Hillary Clinton. Among the Nays were Senators Chris Dodd and Joe Biden. Absent was Senator Barack Obama.

The Senators who voted NO to war with Iran:

and Obama thought no one would notice. The list of "nay" votes should be inscribed on a monument on the mall in D.C. Hillary Clinton and Dianne Feinstein, on the other hand, should be scorned.

that would be hard to explain. He just does not know how to LEAD on issues.

And how could Democrats vote for anything sponsored by Lieberman???? They make me sick.

The only positive I saw was Tester and Webb voting against this stupid bill. I thought they were a lost cause.

Clinton IS a lost cause. It was confirmed today.

just to show her stuff. In 04, I thought Ralph Nader was a nut. In 07, he's looking might good compared to the competition. I know, I know. Dodd has been on the right side of the issue so many times he's almost batting a thousand, but (I hate this line) there is no way in hell he will catch let alone beat Hillary. She is ordained.

The admin fraudulently got the "authority" for their pet war on Iraq with the same weasely wording and then rammed it through media using PR thuggery and sham, patriotic triumphalism. At least some of Congress Carcasses are awake to what's happening:

of leadership from the Dems. They've embraced the politics of perpetual war whether from cowardice or foolishness, who knows or cares?

I'll vote for Dodd should he get the nomination, or Edwards, but as for Clinton or Obama, they can take a hike. They're useless. They're irresponsible. Not one dime, not one volunteer hour, no vote, nada.

They may well find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in 08 by being such poor leaders and being seen repeatedly to be such poor leaders.

He gets his Iraq Plan endorsed by a 3/4 margin in the US Senate, and he gets to clobber Hillary and Obama over the Iran issue and the missed votes.

I am really tired of my US Senators from PA. What is with Bob Casey? Arlen Specter? We really did get Santorum-light with Casey. Are you saying that all R's voted for it? Why did I think this was a no-brainer?

I thought Wes Clarke was against war on Iran. Did I mistake some sarcasm?

I think the Pres of Iran is working for Bush, sometimes.

Well, I hope Edwards, Dodd, Biden, etc. eat them for lunch at the next debate. Fooled me once, shame on you. Fooled me twice, shame on me. I am really disappointed in Hillary, but not surprised.

But wait, I forgot, Hillary is brilliant so this vote could not have been a mistake if Hillary chose to vote that way.

and I will continue to support him. It's such a puzzle to me that he isn't more readily embraced by my fellow progressives. He's been on our side all along, never faltering. He's got his Debate Talk Clock up again for tonight.
