Denver Former Mayor to Co-Chair Obama Campaign

Former Denver Mayor Federico Pena, who served in President Bill Clinton's cabinet as Transportation and Energy Secretary, has announced he will be a co-chair of Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

When asked about Obama's relative lack of experience, Pena didn't contend Obama was sufficiently experienced. Rather, he said, Obama has judgment and wisdom and those count for more than experience.

Pena's role:

He said one of his chief roles will be to help build Obama's Hispanic support.

of course. I would prefer Hillary or Edwards, but all of the top Democrats running are far better than what the Republicans are offering.

I don't see you expend near as much energy denigrating Republicans as you do Obama. you use this less than earth-shattering to take a not so subtle shot at Obama's lack of experience.

In isolation perhaps not a big deal but, for example,  the first words out of your mouth when the Hsu story broke was "smear."

I find it hard to imagine that would have been how you spun it if Hsu has been primarily identified as Obama fundraiser.

    denigrate themselves.

The media stories on Hsu in the main describe him as Senator Clinton's fugitive contributor.  The fact he donated to other Democrats may be found in the footnotes if anyone bothers to read them.

affiliated himself with Pena - the fabricator of the  "all weather", BAE baggage system Denver International Airport.  The Denver City council named the road to the far, far away airport after this cretin for reasons only ex-govr, Roy Romer will know.  Pena is the perfect example of a K Street operative.

Can you feel the tide turning? (none / 0) (#7)

Change says the wind, leadership says the rain, can you feel the tide turning, can you hear the rumble of the irresistible force coming this way?

It's the Obama train folks, jump on board and join the party, because it's a new day in America.  With your help nothing can stop us.

I'm not willing to settle for just any Democrat in the White House, the time for settling for the least objectionable candidate is over!  I want a president who respects my sovereignty, a president who is absolutely unwilling to set himself up as the supreme power in this country, that position is reserved for you and I and every American citizen.  And no one, no corporation, no wealthy individual, and no elected representative, has the right to put himself before the will of the American people.  WE THE PEOPLE hold these truths to be self-evident, that it is we the people of the United States who hold the power, though to our shame we have allowed some to convince us otherwise.  And I fervently believe that Barack Obama understands and respects this undeniable fact.  A genuine rarity among today's presidential candidates.

Obama 08, new leadership for new century.

geez, sorry to burst your bubble there aaron, but that train broke down, shortly after it puffed out of the station. based on what i've seen so far, i'm less than impressed with sen. obama's "judgment and wisdom".

I probably would be objectively closest in both terms of policy positions and background to Edwards. I lean toward supporting him at this early point.  However, that does make me unaware of or desirious of denying  his shortcomings as a candidate, nor does it make me feel the need to exaggerate the shortcomings of other candidates.

I must respectfully dispute  your claim that you have not "denigrated" Obama. you do so obliquely and with innuendo but you do it. That's not even my point, thought. My point is that it seems obvious you don't treat the candidates equally and both in therms of what you choose to publish and the way you present what you select, you apply a different, far more lenient,  standard to Clinton than for any other serious candidate. I consider sifting throught the news to find topics that allow subtle digs at Obama over minor things to be denigrating him and think it is noteworthy when you always seem to leap to the defense of Clinton for perhaps more serious things.

I'm not suggesting you shouldn't do it. Support whom you choose by the means you choose. I'm just saying I  would prefer more balance and fairness.

for Hillary.  Of course she's going to be biased, just like I'm going to be biased towards Obama and just like BTD will be biased towards Dodd.
