The Battle To Be The Media Darling

Tonight Barack Obama and John McCain will be battling to be the Media Darling for the night. I think McCain leads that contest, AS LONG AS he wins tonight, even if by a point. The Media is rooting hard for him. Here is the latest RCP average:

McCain 31.8
Romney 28.2
Huck 12.2
Rudy 9.3
Paul 8.2

Personally I am rooting hard for Romney because I want to see the long faces on Tweety and Co. if Saint John loses. I am also rooting for Paul to beat Rudy. Another 5th for Rudy would be sweet.

But make no mistake, if McCain wins, he will be toasted all night long. The Media loves McCain even more than it hates Hillary Clinton.

BTW, drop your predictions here if you like. I predict Willard in an upset.

I got a sawbuck riding on him to beat Rudy.

The sooner Rudy rolls up his tent the sooner I sleep that much easier.

He is out of it anyway (none / 0) (#5)

McCain wins, and he takes Rudy out with the Media's help.

Romney wins, and it is him and Huck, one on one, and Willard wins.

    Rudy has no path.

hoping for a McCain win and a big one.  If he gets the R nomination, at least I'll have one candidate I can vote for whom I respect.

    I just can't go Obama.

POW in the Hanoi Hilton.  I'm quite worried about what he might do in the future re middle east though.  Good to see a Republican willing to acknowledge the presence of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. and the need to reach some type of accommodation.

    would be sweet.

McCain as the media darling for the night might not be all bad.  It would remind the voters that if he wins they will have to look at his image on the news every night for 4 years.

I just want to watch the circular firing squad should one of the non-beltway sanctioned candidates win.

Grandpa Fred isn't even cracking the top 5, eh?  Well, it's not like he really cares or anything.

Like a good story, a horserace. You know who gets good press? The other person. You know who they pick on? Your person.

Rupert Murdoch is backing Hillary so Fox News is as well, right?

The media love McCain because they consider him to be more open and blunt. Not as calculating.

I'm can live with McCain because if nothing else he's done more in his life than I or most of us ever will be called to do.! I'm not saying I support him, just that I can live with him.

McCain just barely ekes out a 1-2 point victory over Romney and Romney spins it as a "victory"

Ron Paul comes in a very strong third. (My in-laws live in NH and everytime I go up there I'm struck by  how many Ron Paul signs there are).
