McCain v. Bon Jovi

Add Bon Jovi to the list of musicians who have asked the McCain campaign to stop using their music at campaign appearances.

"We are surprised to hear that our song, Who Says You Can't Go Home, was used by the McCain campaign at rallies yesterday and today," the statement said.

"We wrote this song as a thank you to those who have supported us over the past 25 years. The song has since become a banner for our home state of New Jersey and the de facto theme song for our partnerships around the country to build homes and rebuild communities.

"Although we were not asked, we do not approve of their use of Home."

McCain used the Rolling Stones song "Start Me Up" last week without the band's permission. The Stones' "It's All Over Now" would have been a more apt choice.

    No surprise - the only property rights (5.00 / 1) (#2)

the Rethugs defend are their own.

When Angela Merkel, the current German Chancellor, tried to use the Stones' "Angie" during her party's run to taking over the government, the Stones' forbade it.  Copyright.  Artists' rights (this, a concept pretty well developed in European law, particularly French law, but embryonic at best here).

Would that there were better artists' rights provisions, which would bring chicanery like McSame and his people carry out to a flying halt.

    Might I suggest another Stones classic? (5.00 / 0) (#3)

    You're obsolete my baby
    My poor old-fashioned baby
I said baby, baby, baby, you're out of time

Well, baby, baby, baby, you're out of time
I said, baby, baby, baby, you're out of time
    Yes, you're all left out
Out of there without a doubt
Cause baby, baby, baby, you're out of time

is the Beatles "Mean Mister Mustard".

Or how about "Viva Las Vegas" which I think captures the erratic gambling nature of McCain's campaign and proposed policies?

    I Walked With A Zombie (none / 0) (#5)

Another nomination for the new McCain campaign song: "I Walked With A Zombie" (here is REM's version).

Anyone who has watched McCain during any of the debates should know why.  I mean he has been acting downright creepy.  I think he really may be a zombie.

If you don't believe this then check out some of the descriptions from the MSM of McCain and tell me he is not.

voice turned edgy at times ... frozen smile and wide eyes -- which blinked frequently and distractingly at times -- seemed a little strange ... confused, ineffective, at times stumbling. . .at times could not contain himself, muttering and issuing small grunts ... eye-widening and explosive snorts
